We read a negative review at our campsite, but we could not fault the venue, staff, service or meal. The food was first rate, and we found all the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The decor was excellent.

A lovely pub, good accommodation, great food, comfortable bedroom, good beer garden an car parking. All breakfast food is made fresh so you order the night before. A good choice for both evening meal and breakfast.

Visited a number of times and have never had a bad meal, the food is delicious and as beautiful as the pub itself. However the kitchen can't cope when busy. We visited Friday 19th May at 20.30 (booked table) and waited an hour for starter which was just bread and oil. The main arrived half hour later, we ordered top... More

Visited this time last year and had a very good experience - but now it seems to have lost the plot in all ways. We had reserved a table and were shown to a spot near the door - not very welcoming. Then, moved to another table facing the stairs with a down draught from an open door. We closed... More

We started going to the Horse & Groom two years ago and have gone there regularly since - a couple of times a month. The pub was taken over last year. The quality of the food seems unchanged. The same cannot be said of the pub's attitude towards its customers. More or less all of the front of house staff... More

This place used to be a real pleasure to visit under the previous owners but now seems to be relying on past success. Having booked for lunch, we were greeted by blank faces because they had forgotten to write it down. There was a spare table, so all was well and service was prompt and efficient. Food is now just... Popped in for a drink. Was greeting by a surly gentleman advising us food was finished and drinks only. Drinks suited us although no bottled beer and no draught cider. Certainly a change of attitude will help this establishment. On the plus side a lovely garden to enjoy the Cotswolds view.

This is a pleasant enough place to call for a meal. Our meals were adequate if slightly expensive. Griddled longhorn ribeye steak, tarragon & wholegrain mustard butter (£22.50) was well cooked but utterly bereft of any garnish such as mushrooms, tomatoes or watercress. The plate looked pretty sad with just meat and chips. Beers were pleasant. Wines on the expensive... More

Went here and met with friends for the first time since the new management took over. We were pleasantly surprised to find the place full and with a good atmosphere. Our food was absolutely delicious - starters mains and puds . All food was hot and very tasty especially the pear and almond tart with cream!! The staff were helpful... More

We were a family group of meat-eaters, fish-eaters and vegetarians, and the Horse and Groom gave all of us a superb meal. Not only that, they reserved a quiet table for us at our request and were attentive (but not over-attentive) throughout. Highly recommended.
