Hotel Restaurant du Chateau - Beynac is clean, chic and comparatively inexpensive with abundant portions and excellent service. The eatery is at the intersection of the entry road to the XII century Chateau Feodal and the river road. Free parking is 'kitty-corner' in the municipal lot. For under 15€ you can eat your your brains out here on white tablecloths.... More

We were 5 for lunch and were eventually settled at a table inside after staff argued amongst themselves about where to sit us. The carafe water contained white filaments and the waitress was reluctant to change it and our glasses. Food was ok. A further staff argument happened when more customers arrived, these were sat at uncleared table for more... More

We had the 3 course set lunch. Starter very nice - ham and cheese pastry. Main course should have been a lamb dish with garlic but instead the waiter brought us the dish of he day - steak and fries. (We assumed we had misunderstood his French but realised later that we were correct.) When it came to dessert the... More

Dinners are served across the street from the river and inside a lovely, cozy restaurant. I ordered the plat du jour which was a baked chicken dish. The chicken leg had very little meat and it was hard to cut the meat off of the bone. It was not tender. The potatoes were not tasty. It was a quick, cheap... More

We were a group of 11 who went on garden visits. We had reserved earlier and opted for the lunch menu on a long table prepared for us inside as it was raining. The service was fast and pleasant. The entrée of home-prepared smoked salmon on home-made blinis was tasty and hefty. The main course of veal with mushrooms was... More

We tried this restaurant when our usual by the river was booked up. We had a table by the road leading into Beynac. The service was very good and the food was delicious. I had an omelette, my husband had faux fillet which he said was one of the best steaks he'd ever had. The kids had lasagne and burgers.... More

The sun obligingly came out as we were seated on the terrace by the river Dordogne. The meal was a very pleasant experience! Both of us elected to have salads; Isobel having the cold seafood version while I enjoyed a tomato and Mozzarella salad. The food, ambience and service all first class and though more than we usually pay at... More

We needed some food for lunch and we were in Beynac village. We wanted a riverside view and so we went for the roadside seating area for Hotel Restaurant du Chateau. The menu was basic enough for lunch, but the omelette, chips and salad we were served was poor. We ordered one serving with 2 plates as we did not... More

It's rare to find a family friendly restaurant in Beynac however this one hit the right notes for us. The waiter was superb, informative, helpful and welcoming. Kids food was nice and adults theirs too. Would recommend and would return.

On a family holiday in the Dordogne, we stopped here for lunch in the sun, on the terrace next to the river. The location is great, the food a good quality and the portion sizes very large. It's not cheap, but we enjoyed the meal and would recommend.
