We came here due to people recommending this chip shop and I have heard great reviews, but I am not sure how. The chips are the worse chips we have ever eaten, they are cooked in weird tasting oil which is all I could taste...with a oven chip texture, extremely disappointed.More

A complete joke of a fish and chip shop. Lazy slow service like I have never seen anywhere in a take away environment. People left standing outside in their droves in the rain to queue to order, and even longer to get served. How long...can fish and chips take? A truly dreadful experience, which for me will never be repeated.More

Excellent fish and chips and really nice friendly service. They do Gluten free options which is fab!! Very reasonable prices and good quality. So glad we tried this place whilst on holiday. We ate our chips on a bench overlooking the sea. What more could...you ask for. Wish we had a chip shop like this in our home town in the midlands. Will definitely be back there when we visit north Devon again.More

We almost found this by accident after wandering around the streets of Appledore, and we were so glad we did. A long queue of locals was a good sign, and the wait as our meal which was cooked to order, was well worth it. Lovely...fish, tasty sausages and, I would have to say, potentially the best chip shop chips I've ever had.More

This small little chippy in the village of Appledore came with fabulous reviews on trip advisor which was why we chose a takeaway from here. It is very small with (certainly while we were there) food cooked to order. Really friendly owner/member of staff who...as we we’re staying in the area, gave us plenty of ideas of places to visit. Trip advisor reviews were not wrong a fabulous chippy with lovely crunchy chips & fish with a lovely crispy batter & not oily or greasy. Fabulous.More

Popped in here for fish & chips tonight. Absolutely brilliant. Great fish and chips, cooked freshly for us. Friendly service. Very good value. Would highly recommend.

On holiday this week, have had fish and chips three times this week, as they are that good from Sylvesters in Appledore. Freshly cooked to order. Large portions. Friendly staff.

Best fish and chips we have had for some time. Good old style shop, no fancy foods, just really excellent freshly cooked fish and chips.

Absolutely dreadful. Wet overcooked fish - dry and rubbery and barely edible. The batter was completely inedible as it was so overcooked it’s was impossible to chew. Worst ever

Staying in the area and was told by a local that this place was the best fish and chips in the area. If this is the best I’d hate to try the worst. Bland, greasy over cooked chips. Portions were small and expensive. We arrived...just before the opening time along with some other customers. We were all waiting patiently, but the owner seemed offended that customers were waiting, complaining that he would leave the closed sign on all night because no one takes any notice of it. I think this is a business trading on past reputation. If your in the area and fancy fish and chips then go elsewhere.More

I have visited twice this month,fish dry,l small and overcooked,chips disgusting,just scraps of greasy, apologies for chips. You've had my custom for years but not any more.
