We came by this restaurant through the internet and stop by late evening for dinner without reservations , they seated us immediately upon arrival. The floor manager was very attentive and recommended us dishes of house specialty We were served immediately with drinks of our request and food about 15 mins later. The service was efficient and seamless. This restaurant is situated at Kuah and corner lot beside the traffic light so it’s easy to spot. Walking into the restaurant is like walking into a traditional nyonya restaurant , the people that worked there have work for a very long time as I observe they have an understanding with each other like no other, just by a nod or a stare and they were clockwork to deliver the dishes to you . Even the head chef came out to check on us, which I was impressed. Food was tasty and good , we had fried squids , taufu , omelet and veges and for desert cendol. We were very satisfied with our meal. I did asked the floor manager why the name is banana leaf which sounded like an indian shop, he explained it’s because of the food being wrap with banana leaf which can be typical for Chinese or nyonya cuisine. Health guidelines was also observed in this restaurant and all our tables were spaced out well. Would drop by here again in my next visit to Langkawi !

We ordered 3 dishes, the popular sambal kangkong, butter mantis (pic) and otar otar homemade. We will give the butter mantis extra points for the taste. It's a good restaurant not to be missed if you are here in Langkawi. Enjoy .

We had a blast in Langkawi, and this was the dinner spot for us for 3 days straight. Dishes were very close to our own home cooking style so this grew on us as comfort food away from the daily buffets and western fare served at the hotel. Recommend for everyone.

Last meal before leaving Langkawi. The food was great although I was expecting them to serve Banana Leaf since that is the name of the restaurant. However, I was not disappointed as the food served were delicious. However, the ABC dessert was under expectation as the flavoring was kinda weird.

Trying new restaurants in Kuah town so following trip advisor reports tried this one. Don’t always be put off by an empty restaurant, someone has to be the first customers. Quick meal of chicken curry (nonya style) omelette and sambal runner beans just what we needed. Now we are completely knackered so back to the Westin for a well earned sleep.

Great range of fresh seafood. Teo Chew steamed fish a highlight along with garlic eggplant. Good mix of Nyonya flavours with Langkawi close to Thailand.

Ended up here by sheer chance as the restaurant we were heading for was closed. Great food at very reasonable prices and they serve beer. Definitely recommend small dishes as they were very generous. Free WiFi always a bonus if you need to call a Grab! Lovely service and will definitely be back! Highly recommended.

We were wondering around to find a good place to go, to get something else than seafood. So we found Banana Leaf, went for a dinner, got friendly service and delicious food. Good experience!
