This seafood restaurant by the beach offers a breathtaking view of the sunset, which is truly the highlight of the experience. While the food may not be the absolute best you can find, the combination of above-average taste, a fancy atmosphere, and the stunning scenery makes it worth visiting. We ordered a variety of dishes, including satay, chicken wings, steamed fish, two types of mud crabs, spaghetti, vegetables, and mineral water. The total bill came to around RM500 for six people, which is reasonable given the setting and quality. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy good seafood while taking in a gorgeous sunset, this restaurant delivers on ambiance and overall experience.

Had pre-dinner drinks in the bar to watch the sunset, followed by dinner in the restaurant. Didn’t get off to the best staff when they didn’t have a record of the booking they had confirmed by email earlier the same day, but they fitted us in. We had a drink in the bar first to watch the sunset. It was just a shame they kept the (quite ugly) blinds down for much of this time, but we asked them to put them up, which they did, and we managed to move to a better spot just in time. Wine list was good and reasonably priced. Extensive and varied food menu, and everything we ate was delicious. One of our mains came out after everyone else had finished, but staff were very apologetic and gave us a free fruit platter which we appreciated. We were staying on the other side of the island so were dismayed to realise that our daughter had left her cap behind, which had sentimental value. Staff were so helpful in helping us retrieve it, and recognised us straight away when we returned. The friendliness of the staff and quality of food more than made up for any minor issues we had on the night and we would recommend visiting this restaurant if in Pentai Cenang.

We are visitors of Pantai cenang for many years,in the past we have visited this place once or twice and felt it lacked atmosphere. But guest at our hotel persuaded us to give it another go. We called in for dinner around 8.15pm shown to a table near entrance even though many tables free. We moved ordered our drinks fine , then ordered the meal the fries arrived first , no main to go with we asked for all to be served together! 20mins or so later main arrives now cold chips even though we tried to ask them to remove and bring back fresh , by then we are hungry so we ate a few chips the waiter took them away once main arrived , we asked for fresh she said we will just top up a few chips as we had eaten 4 or 5 !!! By this time it’s getting worse we are now just halfway through eating and the waiting staff decided to clear up around us even to the point of barricading us in with chairs . By now fed up we thought let’s move to bar as it was not professional what was happening around us and we still had drinks to finish even though still people in the restaurant, we said you clear up and we will have our drink at the bar. Oh no bar shut all chairs stacked up and pumps closed. This is now 10.30 . What a shame this place could be good as the views are lovely . That’s it for us .

We, two couples, went specifically to watch the sunset, 25th March 2024. Arriving at 16.30pm, the temperature on the beach was still blisteringly hot, so we sort some shade in The Cliff Restaurant & Bar. What a great find. Parts were being refurbished but not a problem as we initially only wanted liquid refreshment and found a table adjacent to the bar with a perfect view of the sea. We had a Jug (1 litre) of Tiger Beer, which was served with chilled glasses. Given that the sunset was not due to start until 19.00, we consumed another 3 Jugs, everyone served with fresh chilled glasses & feeling peckish ordered food. This consisted of 3 Wagu Beef Burgers & a Cliff Club Sandwich all served with chips. The food hit the spot, tasty and filling. Service was faultless. Saw the sunset, which was stunning. Our bill came to 408 Ringgits, sterling equivalent ÂŁ72, (ÂŁ18 Each). Fantastic value & location. Very happy to recommend.

We went there spontaneously because the location on a hill is great and the place stands out. We had pasta with giant prawns and fresh fish for the main course and a Caesar salad and a summer roll to start with and were very satisfied - everything tasted great and was beautifully served. You have a beautiful view of the Patai Chenang or the sea. It is a bit annoying that the shop closes at 10 p.m. and then there is a bit of a kick-out atmosphere. But that is at least what was stated at the entrance and was communicated in advance.

Came here for dinner under reservation on 2/7 . We were greeted by a friendly Malay Lady, not sure if her name was called Amy. She walked us to our table and presented us with the menu and a kids meal. Took for us some photographs after ordering our food and she has a friendly smile thru the whole 1 1/2 hours of our dinner We had:- Homemade Cliff Satay @ 30.00 for 10sticks Grill Whole Seabass @ RM 75.00 Green Curry Chicken @ RM 48.00 Brocolli and Asparangus @ RM 25.00 1 plate fragrant rice @ RM 5.00 White House wine @ RM 18.00 Half Pint Heineken @ RM 12.00 Total dinner for 2adults and 1 children @ RM 234.30 Food was good especially the grilled Seabass. Fresh and the sambal that came with it wasn’t enough as it was so yummy and I’ve them requested for more Thau green curry was really fragrant with herbs and creamy with coconut milk. While the rest of the food was average White wine by the glass was tasteless though, and we were lucky as I told the Mr not to order the whole bottle @ RM 78.00 Beautiful location with open air restaurant with cover top, no air conditioning overlooking Pantai Cenang sunset. Great place for couples or small families.

Visited the bar before dinner and while views are amazing at sunset and the service was excellent the cocktails were a little on the weak side and were pre-mixed. The restaurant on the other hand was fabulous. We shared a beautifully cooked sea bass with some vegetables and rice which was delicious. Also had a nice well priced bottle of wine from a very good wine list. Service was very good and would give the restaurant 5 stars and the bar 3 stars which is how I arrive at overall rating of 4 stars.

High hopes for a nice meal were quicky gone when i was directed to the bar area for seating by a young boy. Clearly couldn’t be bothered to seat someone in the restaurant with an hour to go before final orders - despite tge restaurant having only 5 seated customers. Asked for the manager with a question about the rib eye steak. She was equally less helpful. Steak arrived in less than 10 minutes - under cooked and excessively fatty. Potato as bland as possible. Complained but ignored. Awful experience at high cost. Left quickly.

Great location for the sunset but I would go to the bar rather than the restaurant. Restaurant service painfully slow, and in our case, non existent after the main course - we were never offered a dessert menu. I had the Barramundi fillet which was OK if a bit bland, my partner had the chicken perchick, quality of chicken really poor and she couldn't eat it. Not great.

You guys ruined our anniversary dinner. The meal was extremely bad and overpriced. 300 rm for a fish, half a lobster (very small one) and some seafood i don’t want to name all. All are fried or steamed and drizzled with sauces with an extremely boring taste. The pineapple juice is bad too (i think its rotten somehow). The manager advised us to order a set (he said its best seller) for 2. And only a fish was too much for 2, and it so boring and no fresh that we couldn't eat it all. After complaining about the quality of the service, we were offered 15% off and the total bill was RM298 (service charge included), too expensive for a meal with a fried fish that wasn't fresh at all.So dissapointed!!! Do not come if you don’t want to waste your money.

Prior to arriving, my wife and myself had a bottle of bubbly 🍾 in the relaxing bar next to the restaurant, the staff were lovely. Then through to the main restaurant, food was exquisite, steak cooked exactly how I asked and my wife thought her fish was spot on. Staff in the restaurant again have been well trained in knowing how to keep the customers happy. Loved this place, the views are the best in Langkawi for the sunset. Just great.

We loved the restaurants at the Danna but decided to venture out one night and thee concierge made us a reservation. The Cliff was an interesting contrast. We were greeted warmly & may have had the best table in the house with sweeping views of the sea & the fire twirlers on the beach. We had the whole fish with Sambal which was nicely presented and a delight. Everything was very tasty and we didn’t touch on most of the very large menu. With Cocktails and two of the priciest dishes on the menu (plus one more) we spent under $50. Definitely would return.

Went for dinner & drinks. This restaurant came up as 1 of the places to go when in Langkawi, and since its always pack, you have to make reservation. But oh my, was I wrong! 3 out of the 4 foods that we ordered were not just bad, but horrible!! For the price, we were getting frozen refried chicken & prawns. Like seriously?! We ordered pasta as well & it was so over cooked that it tasted like mee goreng mamak! Only satay was an okay. When complained to the staff, there was no manager so obviously they did not know how to handle the situation & only gave us a fruit platter instead. The cocktails were ok. We finished our drinks & left, did not spend much time there. The view from the bar is nicer than the restaurant. I would suggest people to only have drinks here, not their food. We spend almost RM300 for a horrible meal. What a shame! Please dont fall for their touristy gimmick.

With no reservation we chanced our luck and walked the 1.5km form our hotel. On arrival it didn’t look like we’d get a table … However attentive staff quickly sent us to the bar ( no bad thing ) Where we got to watch the final bits of the Sun going down and enjoying some pre-dinner drinks wall or table was reset Menu wise this restaurant offers some western food in form of steak spaghetti Bolognese pizzas but more importantly the beef rendang & the Thai Basil beef coupled with the pad Thai were absolutely gorgeous the winner was the portion of morning glory vegetables with chilli and garlic. Definitely worth a visit not to badly priced either Steak Pizza 3 traditional courses And a veggie side 3 cocktails 5 beers 4 soft drinks £97.00 (including service charge)
