We had a table booked on Saturday night for 2 people. We had a drink in the bar while we waited for our table (we were early) and were shown up to our table a little earlier than booked. The food was lovely and the...More

Busy Saturday evening but wonderfully attentive staff and an imaginative menu. All food ordered was delicious, beautifully presented and good portion sizes. Thought it was very reasonably priced and will definitely visit again

We had a 'nice' meal here but when you reflect on the price of the dishes and our expectations after reading other reviews, we left a little disappointed. The presentation was fabulous but all in our party agreed that their dishes promised a little more...More

Went for a pub lunch with colleagues and have to say we are inter generational but all commented on the particular age demographic that this place attracts - middle England well into retirement. The place itself was chock full of rustic olde world charm and...More

My wife and I went as part of a group of couples for dinner. This place is very up market, people who go here are clearly very well off. The service, food and general ambiance is very very good. It is very high quality English...More

25 years after I first set foot in here, it remains the best place in the area in my opinion. Whether popping in for a pint or going for Sunday lunch you'll love it. George and his team know exactly what they are doing and...More

I must confirm this is now my new local. Always packed and worth the wait. We ordered the Rump of English rose veal which had blue cheese, balsamic onions, white garlic gremolata and braised leeks along with the slow cooked lamb shoulder. Would be returning...More

Description
"The Boot Inn is a very popular eaterie in this thriving village. You are likely to see married couples celebrating whatever they choose with a bottle of pop, as well as younger couples on early impress-me dates. The restaurant itself is beautiful, light and airy, decorated very simply with great sophistication. The crowd is comfortable and chatty. The Pacific Rim/Mediterranean menu is confident and inventive.

What's cooking?

For starters, try the asparagus spears with pancetta and cherry tomato salad, or the speared tuna nicoise. For mains, you could have the straight forward ribeye steak au poivre with chargrilled tomato and frites, or a complex dish like the spatchcock poussin with lemon, marsala, and rosemary and whipped potato. Very strong wine list."
