We decided on short notice to pop out for a roast . We have not been here for a long time . The staff member serving at the till was polite although seemed to find the drinks confusing even for two people and my choice of drink they didn't have . Queue time was acceptable and a good choice of... More

We have been going to the Lord Louis most Friday evenings for a roast, we visited the Lord Louis Friday 21st April evening, my husband myself & two sons. We ordered some starters first & was told three of the starters we wanted were unavailable, after picking different starters, we then waited twenty minutes to be told they still did... More

Went here for a roast with my husband and 3 children. Staff all looked miserable no please thank-you's. Very unwelcoming. The only good thing about the roast was the Gammon. The mash had frozen lumps and the veg was awful. Been before and it use to be lovely but has gone down hill. Staff need training on being polite and... More

My Son and I decided to go for a carvery at the Lord Lois last Sunday. I hadn't been there for years so thought I would check it out as I remembered that they used to do a pretty good roast. I'd have to say I was a bit disappointed with the food from the carvery. The meat itself wasn't... More

The vegetables this evening were absolutely dried out and contaminated by other vegetables... after asking the carver he said the reason fresh couldn't be cooked was because all equipment was turned off and if we just gave the veg a stir it wouldn't seem so dry!... it seems strange to me that the equipment was turned off considering the restaurant... Popped in here for a coffee late morning whilst car was being washed and valeted. Wasn't very busy and I could see the carvery was getting ready for lunchtime business. The Lord Louis looks tired inside, and to be honest rather run down. The tables have seen better days and a lot of them had old dirty plates not cleared... More

This is a Convenient Carvery for us and is generally ok but they do have a problem keeping the meat warm without drying it up which it was on our visit. The vegetable selection has deteriorated and have been replaced with Mushy Peas and Baked Beans. Will look to go somewhere else before returning here.
