Having visited Tylney hall last year for the first time I had no hesitation in booking again to celebrate my parents special day. This hotel certainly know how to make a day special from pre dinner drinks nibbles in the lounge to the fabulous oak room for an amazing lunch with piano accompaniment, the experience was just amazing. This will... More

We couldn't fault it (and we don't say that often). We were there for lunch just before Christmas and from the moment we stepped through the door, service was excellent. Loved the fact that we were shown to a table in the drawing room to have a drink and look at the menu rather than straight to our table. We... More

I have been coming here on and off for a long long time. Firstly the upsides are that the staff are lovely, I know some by name, they are always consistent and very helpful. The other upside is the location is outstanding. So, on to the downside. This time last year there was a separate Vegetarian menu for Sunday lunch... More

We went for a Friday lunch with friends as we do every year as a Xmas gift to each other, sadly this year due to commitments we couldn't do a Sunday or evening. That said the service was as always warm and friendly we had drinks in the lounge on arrival and given a nice table in the Oak Room,... More

We visited the Oak Room restaurant for Christmas lunch in December 2016. We were welcomed warmly and shown to the lounge area. We waited there over 10 minutes before anybody came to give us a menu or offer us a drink. We ordered and expected to have canapes, as they were on the menu, but we never got them. We... More

Thought I'd already left a. Review? The fixed menu lunch was very reasonably priced and had in our opinion an excellently varied menue, the wine at usual hotel prices, the service was good and we were left to eat at our own speed, worth 5 blobs but table made you a little sea-sick!! A very good start to Our Christmas Many thanks... More

We were a family party of 7 here today for Christmas Day Lunch and it was a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived when we greeted warmly and seated in the lounge for canapes and pre- dinner drinks. We were promptly seated in the elegant Oak Room underneath the atrium and began our 7 course gourmet experience. I had... More

Booked a dinner table for four here. Nice setting in the room, a guy playing the piano in the background was good, menu is limited but enough choice, although my one niggle is that if you want steak you have to find another guest to share it with ( no one did, so I had to choose another option). Service... More

We had a family meal to celebrate our Mum's 70th last Sunday. The place is nice - if a little "faded grandeur" - and the food was ok, nothing particularly special. However everything was overshadowed by the abysmally slow service. We were a party of 11, with 5 children. It took us 3 and a half hours to get through... More
