While staying near Llanrwst, my husband enjoyed a quiet dinner in this pub on a chilly night in April. We began our meal with giant prawn starters, then it was tomato soup and bread for me, and a lamb dish for him. For dessert, we shared a warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream - all quite delicious!

Good quality pub food made to order using fresh ingredients. Has a separate restaurant but food can be eaten in the bar

The four of us went again to this lovely place. As ever the ambiance and welcome was great, particularly from the manager/barman Hedd. All four meals were tasty and well presented and the steak, which I was told was sourced from the village butcher was as tender as anything. My wife's chunky fish soup was devine. The desserts were varied... More

My boyfriend and I popped in last minute for a Sunday night dinner! They have the most incredible lamb shoulder on the menu (although, an absolutely massive shoulder) which we would recommend to everyone!

Fabulous pub with loads of character and a roaring fire in the village of Trefriw in the Conwy Valley. I would recommend the pepper pot beef with ginger. There is a large beer garden at the back with an area overlooking the river... delightful. Pub is child and dog friendly with welcoming staff.

We ALWAYS have at least one meal in the Old Ship when we are in Snowdonia. The pub is cosy and welcoming and main meals (including Sunday roast) are generous and delicious for all the family. The Vegetarian Lasagna, Steak and Ale pie and Chille Con Carne are always favourite and they usually have one or two great fish dishes... More

Called in here lunchtime on a Sunday for a meal, bar wasn't very busy, so we thought we wouldn't have long to wait for our food, wrong, one young lad behind the bar taking orders and serving drinks and a waitress of about ten years old carrying desserts. We ordered just two meals, after half an hour of waiting our... More
