Decided to visit this hotel today for lunch after a long absence, and I'm very glad we did. We were given a warm welcome by the landlord and seated by the open fire. We then ate a delicious lunch of freshly prepared food including a tasty veggie option. To cap off our visit we were sent on our way with... More

Visited here twice since Boxing Day. First time, very busy - we did book and a need to wait was explained to us in advance (we cycled there and werent sure how long it would take either) so not an issue. The snack menu was off due to xmas, which wasnt explained when I booked. Not a problem however -... More

What a warm welcome when you enter this establishment on a cold winter's afternoon/evening and not only from the fire glowing in the hearth. This is a great place to sit down, put your feet up, chat to the locals or read a paper in your own corner or in front of the fire. Order a good Scottish whisky and... More

This is a gathering place for the people who live in the area, out in the middle of vast farmlands, over knolls and streams, past Heilan Coos ( Highland Cows ) grazing in the green pastures. I consider myself most fortunate for my cousin and family to treat me to such a down-to-earth, no-fuss and great food restaurant. The old... More

Conveniently located on the Cateran Trail (which we were walking), the hotel was comfortable and clean (although the shower ran out of hot water!), they took the dog and dried our walking boots, and the food (both evening meal and breakfast) was incredible. Definitely worth a visit.

Earlier this week our travels took my wife and i to Glenisla Village, we were staying at Doldy Farm, about a mile from the village and the hotel. On Sunday we sat in the beer garden to enjoy the weather, the restaurant was packed so there were no tables to be had, a good sign! We booked and reservered a... More

We were walking the Cateran Trail and stopped here for the night. The room was clean and comfortable and the bar had a choice of real ales. The meals were absoluteley brilliant. Definitely worth a visit.

As a group of walkers we really appreciated being handed old newspapers to put into our wet boots before they were taken away to the drying room. They came back to us next morning perfectly dry which makes such a difference on a walking holiday. The food was also delicious.
