Quality and creativity on local patterns. Excelant service, value for money.I strongly recomend. I sugest visitors to eat good food in Pyrgos or in other places away from touristic sea-side spots and enjoy the Caldera view for cofee or some late drinks. The only odd thing about the reservation was that they gave us ,on the phone, the impression of a... We loved Selene! Found it as a recommendation in Wine Spectator magazine and it did not disappoint. Atmosphere: It's in a quaint town (Pyrgos) and recommend you head over early and walk the town first - a great way to set the romantic evening.Fine dining but felt relaxed. We ate inside as it was end of September and getting colder... More

Selene is a fancy joint knocking out fancy food and wine at fancy prices. The food tasted great but I got irked by not getting full up for EUR180, it is possible to get full up if you spend EUR250 on a meal for 2 and it will taste good.

Had a dinner here with a couple of friends. We are downstairs and the food was fantastic. Great selection of fish, meat and vegetarian options. The wine was local and perfectly gorgeous. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful with choosing all the courses. Cannot recommend this place enough

We were recommended this restaurant by a foodie friend so were expecting a treat for my milestone birthday. I had booked online months in advance. The place was empty!! Only two other tables being used while we were there. I was a little worried but being a Sunday evening in very early October I gave them the benefit of the... More

Ok so 190 euros later for 2 with no pudding! This professes Michelin star type quality but it isn't a scratch on it. I have eaten at some top calibre restaurants and this really failed on every course. I was greeted by one of the kitchen staff having a cigarette in his aprons on the way to the toilet. This... 'Selene' restaurant was established in 1986 in Fira, Santorini by Yiorgos and Evelyn Hatziyannakis. Our aim was from the very start, to show and promote the local products along with the local cuisine hoping that this will enable us to transmit to our guests a taste of the island's culture. The success that we have had all those years not only within Greece but also worldwide, has encouraged us to continue with cooking lessons, catering for weddings and conferences and various gastronomical events.

Since 2010 'Selene' restaurant has moved location from Fira to Pyrgos. Pyrgos is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved villages of Santorini built around a medieval castle located in one of the highest points of the island offering magnificent views. What is mostly important for us however is that Pyrgos village, and the restaurant's location especially, lies next to the famous vineyards and the valuable farmland of Santorini.
