Ate an evening meal here whilst staying nearby. We had to book and were restricted over choice of time, but the menu varied and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. Would eat here again.

We'd been for a nice long walk and ended up in the Tower Bank Arms looking for a quick lunch and a friendly welcome for our Labrador. We found both at the Tower Bank Arms and were lucky enough to just get the last table. We had sandwiches, the poached salmon was delish and the chips with rosemary salt were... More

The food for both evenings was enjoyed by all. The service was attentive and Jimmy, the barman, included us in the dining room in his ccare.

We stayed at Esthwaite Farm cottages 200m away from the Tower Bank Arms so visited the first night just for a drink and then our last night for a meal. Lovely ambience, very friendly and extremely accommodating. Couldn't tell the difference between the tourists and locals as everyone seemed to chat with everyone else! We both ordered the battered haddock... More

We popped in here for a bite to eat before visiting Hill Top (next door) on Sunday. We were greeted by very friendly staff and a nice cosy fire. Luckily we were ordering food by 12.30 as half hour they were full. We had sandwiches which were served with a nice side salad and a good quantity of filling. The... More

Booked a table in the restaurant for dinner and very pleased. The bar welcomes dogs but the restaurant is more sophisticated. Very friendly service. Good food with generous portions so share if your appetite is modest or pig out if you're hungry

Always a delight to eat here, the food is inventive and plentiful and well served, it is a cosy pub with limited space so I would recommend booking in advance

Not many tables so get here early if you want to sit in. We were lucky enough to get a large table for the four of us plus a high chair. Food was great and very reasonable priced. Everything on the menu sounded delicious and it was difficult to choose between dishes but we opted for 3 beef and ale... More

Tried to book a table for a friday evening. Whoever answered the phone was extremely miserable and couldn't even be bothered to take any details. Go somewhere else. I'm sure there are places elsewhere who are more than happy to help

Stopped off at this country pub one evening and enjoyed a really pleasant evening. Sat near the cosy fire and had a great steak washed down with several good ales and some great chat with the locals.
