Exceptionally good food reasonably priced. We especially liked the Poutine which they have elevated to a new level with a kind of venison stew. They also have some great craft beers. The stout beer was amazing. Staff very helpful and friendly.

I have been to this restaurant a couple of times during my trips to this region and like to visit this place at least once each time. Their specialty is locally sourced products. They serve micro brewed beer which my husband loved. The fish and...chips and the deer burger are very very good. It’s also the vibe that makes this place so special. The view is wonderful from the patio BUT be sure you have reservations. It is a laid back place but I guess tours come thru the area and they book up a lot of the beautiful outdoor patio. The inside is OK but very warm...as there are no fans or AC. The service was excellent. Server was fluent in English - in fact a few of the servers were which was greatly appreciated AND they have an English menu. We had the salmon tartare and a pizza. The salmon was very good - the pizza was just OK. For the quality of food it was expensive. They had a nice selection of beers. You'll find families with small children, as well as seniors, hipsters, tourists, and locals crowding this place. Be prepared to speak French as not a bilingual staff. A fabulous find of a place - recommended to us after working up an appetite kayaking! The food was delicious served in the garden at the back overlooking the fjord. We even had to go to the local supermarket to purchase some of their ales!...Very reasonably priced too!More

Good and cheap! How much could we ask for ? Waitresses care for you all along the meal, there are plenty of different beers covering your different kind of thirst, and their specialities around deer meat are delicously tasty !!!

We discovered this place after finishing up our hike - couldn't be happier to find local, farm to table cuisine in quite a remote area. What sold us: - Microbrewery with their amazing beers on tap - tried the white with chamomile/lavender/pepper called Peau de...Lièvre, and the oatmeal stout with roasted chicory called the Noire à la Chicorée. - Try their deer dishes - from a local farm. We had the penne and the burger. Our standards are high, and I can tell you that the meal was memorable. - Fast and attentive service. Blankets provided for outside seating and meals were served quickly. We are coming back again for sure.More

This Bistro prides itself on using local produce and drinks. Quebec wine and beer, vegetables and berries. Very simple menu but something for everyone. Started with a Quebec cheese plate which consisted of 3 types of cheeses easy on the palate and a wonderful pear...sauce. Dishes selected were penne with thin sliced deer, Rigatoni with oyster mushrooms and Indian butter chicken. All were very tasteful and good portions. For dessert we ordered blueberry and apple crisp and poudding chomeur. The crisp was far better than the poudding. Service provided by Isabelle was polite, effecient and she spoke English. Prices were fair. The Quebec countryside has so many dining jewels where you can taste local, fresh food prepared in a different way. If you go to the Saguenay region, don't miss Bistro de L'Anse.More

This bistro is a must if you ever make a stop at L'anse saint jean. The menu is very interesting and delicious. At the back of the restaurant you have a beautiful view of the river and the mountains. It's a peaceful place.

We were on vacation in Anse St Jean and went twice there. Our kids ask for more. The place is extremely friendly but also popular: it is best to book in advance. We twice ate on the covered proch which is great to keep a...view at the kids in the garden. There is a playground but most importantly a huge backyard so both nights, all the kids were playing together. The menu is varied with great option. The fried calmars were delicioius as a starter. I had the salmon tartare the first night and then the Indian chicken> both were very tasty. The kids menu is excellent value with a main course, a drink and a (huge) dessert. And last but not least: the locally produced beer - many many choices!More

My wife and I made reservations before coming to Quebec.. The owner gave us a table outside,, on the porch which was great.. There was a breakdown in communication between our waitress and me..I thoughtt I ordered one selection, and she brought another.. However, the...dish delivered was tasty, just not what i ordered.
