Four of us went for a meal on a Friday night. The place seemed popular, but we had reserved a table. The staff were friendly and attentive. There was a good choice of food on the menu. Portions were large and good value for money.

A chain pub, mid week visit, it was quiet, we hadn't booked, we were given a window seat, which was appreciated, sadly the setting sun didn't offer an expected glow. I was driving, so sorry, I can't comment on the beers available. The service was...More

Would definitely recommend the Hare & Hounds for lunch. The pub is warm and inviting with a separate dining room open fires and great atmosphere. The food is tasty and plentiful. Definitely recommend the black pudding bon bons. Great options for children too.

My previous review here was in the Spring where it was much improved and I have to say the standard here was at the same high standard we found last time. I feel it has now overtaken the other eating pubs in the area and...More

Lunch for 4 on our way to perform at Moovin Festival. We found this place through trip advisor and were not disappointed. Excellent roast beef dinner for under £14. Buttery soft meat (top quality) with a rich jus and perfectly cooked veg. Yorkshire pudding was...More

Oh dear. On a quiet afternoon at this quaint country pub, things seemed more aligned to a licensed kennels than a purportedly high-ish end eatery. The bar area was pretty busy with blokes sharing a pint as a small child shouted and ran around. No...More

Sorry! We do state on the menu that "well-behaved children are welcome" as are "dogs where no one is eating and no other diners object, but kept on a lead please" Clearly we did not live up to that statement on this occasion and I...More

Description
The Hare & Hounds in Mill Brow, Marple Bridge is a traditional country pub that makes no apologies for the lack of jukebox or fruit machine. We're passionate about what matters, excellent restaurant quality food, prepared by head chef Ryan using local, seasonal produce with beer and ales from our award winning cellar, served in a warm, informal and friendly atmosphere. It's a home from home where you can dine or drink the hours away, basking in the warm glow of the real log fire, chat at the bar or refuel after a bracing country walk.
