My husband and I regularly visited The Old Brogue, at lunch and on the evening, as it was next door to the Idyll Suites where we stayed for 2 weeks. Brendan, Todd, the lady owner and the other ladies were all very efficient and provided excellent customer service. The food in our opinion was the best in the area and such good value too. I enjoyed the Pina Coladas and my husband loved his good quality guiness. Even the salads were made with care and attention. Presented really nicely and all finely chopped, which is just as I like it. They do present all their food really well and all hit food was piping hot. The Irish lady owner has very high standards and after chatting to her, it was clear that she values all her customers and strives to provide them all with a first class experience. There were customers from other resorts in there at times, ex pats and a few locals, which proves how popular it is. I would definitely recommend The Old Brogue. Thanks for making our holiday memorable. D & N

We drank here every day during our stay in Playa Del Cura and we ate here once in the evening. My husband ordered Irish Stew (he pre ordered it as it was not on the menu) and my only choice as a vegetarian was a Pizza, there was a veggie burger on the menu but it was not available. My husband loved his Irish stew and my Pizza was ok,just a little bit too much cheese for my liking. Well worth a visit and the service was excellent

We have stayed in Playa del Cura during the winter months for many years & the owner of The Old Brogue, Lillian, definitely believes in continual improvement to the point where she has achieved near perfection in all areas of service, quality & friendliness. She provides traditional pub grub & offers a varied menu. We have seen the different dishes come out from the kitchen & they all look fresh, well presented & mouth wateringly delicious. The fish & norweigan cod fillet with mushy peas & tartare sauce are exceptionally tasty & are covered in a light, crunchy beer batter. Nothing is too much trouble for Lillian & her friendly, efficient staff. Although small, the toilets are always scrupulously clean as are all areas of the bar with indoor & outdoor seating. Indoor & outdoor TV screens cover most of the main sporting events, the volume of which are kept to moderation, to enable those that just wish to sit & chat & have a good time without being distracted. We can't wait to return again. Excellent.

The food and service were terrible and we were paying around 20% more for every item compared to The Texas bar just 16 meters away! We waited over 30 minutes to get a menu, our first drink arrived 45 minutes after sitting down! The main courses were either cold or missing food items! The staff had no idea what they were doing, there were things wrong with almost everything. We are not uptight people, far from it, the staff just didn’t care. The atmosphere was appalling, hardly anyone in the pub old brogue everyone looked serious or angry. You can look down to theTexas bar downstairs and see smiling faces! It made you sad to be in what is essentially the breakfast room that turns itself into an Irish pub at night. After high prices you’d think that they would get the bill right! They had added an extra €37 to the bill, we had to ask twice before they took it off, no one explained what had happened. A total disaster. The next night we went to the Texas bar downstairs , a total delight, the waiters were amazing, food was quick, you could see into the bar, you could see smiles on the faces of the other customers, a really warm, lovely atmosphere. Plus it was A LOT cheaper. If you like food and service, don’t go to thisIrish pub

The prices here are outrageous. One can of John Smiths and a small bottle of water was 6.50 euros. The bar in Puerto Rico for the same drinks is 3.50 euros. We will never visit this bar again.

Came for the football, staff/management really went out of their way to accomodate us, friendly and helpful. We ate there twice - the food was very good value and (in my case, as a vegetarian) it was also pretty good, probably the only veggieburger in the area!! My parents weren't impressed with the lasagne on the first visit but 2nd visit had fish and chips which was very good, apparently. Desserts rated as very good all round. Simple pub food done well.

Normally avoid bars and TV but as playa del cura very quiet and next door to where we staying Idyll apartments the Old Brogue was convenient plus the Open Golf and England vs the Aussies at rugby. Our flight was a late one so we nipped here for omelettes which were very good. All the food coming out looked good and we can definitely recommend the fish chips and mushy peas. Not local spanish food but very tasty. Good value plus great attentive service.

Almost got ripped off buying drinks from the bar. €3 more for the same drinks as last week ,when I questioned the prices I got the €3 refunded but why does this happen? All I want is to pay the correct price, not to be treat like a fool. This is the last time we ever come in here 🤬

The worst chicken burgers and chips we ever had. Bland without taste. Chicken imitation in those burgers was awful. Coleslaw in ordered meal was literally 4 tea spoons. One star for this experience is way to much!

Great little Irish Pub. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. We often had drinks here, and sometimes lunch, and a couple of breakfasts. The English Breakfast comes in a variety of plate sizes, so is great for those with smaller appetites who don’t like to waste food. They also will do anything on the menu as Takeaway.. It is a friendly pub, that serves good food and I would recommend a visit, but I’m sure you won’t just go once.

Hey what a great place it was, unfortunately I am dreadful with names, I can only remember Brendon. All the staff were fab, very very friendly, helpful and always happy to chat. We do like a good chat. We were in the resort for 10 nights and popped in most days. Even on our first Saturday there was a dreadful rain storm, no problem for the Brogue’s, the doors were closed to stop the cascading water and they carried on. Brilliant. They were quite happy to show our beloved Newcastle United games. The lady who owns the pub / restaurant was lovely, excellent host. The girls were great. One night we were in watching the England game and my partner Lou asked Brendon for an “Oil Slick” something he had never been asked for, no problem Lou told him what it was there it was. Just brilliant. We only ate at the Brogue a couple of times but on these occasions the food was fantastic. All in all a great bunch and we can’t wait to visit them in July when we return. Thanks “Brogue’s” Here is to next oil slick… 🤣👍 Simon & Lou

If you are staying in Playa del Cura it’s quite limited for bars / pubs etc ( this is a good thing as it’s a nice quiet resort!) You are pretty much limited to this bar really, which is not a bad thing at all as it’s a nice friendly sports bar for all nationalities. They will try their best to accommodate the football match you’d like to watch which I did one afternoon, also nice to have the odd after dinner drink here after visiting the surrounding restaurants which we did on a couple of occasions. you get table service too with an open outdoor seating area which provides a nice cool off at night. Had the food as a takeaway one night which was good quality /tasty no thrills grub which you’d expect from this kind of place. Would have probably visited more but was all inclusive nearby, but if you need a little break from your all inclusive’s in playa del Cura then this is the place.

Absolutely brilliant bar and restaurant. The staff and owners will bend over backwards to look after you. Lots of screens for live sports so the staff will make sure you can watch whatever you want. Everyone is friendly and up for a laugh and to top it off the pizza’s are amazing. Love this place.
