Found this pub in a book about pubs & restaurants within 5 miles of a motorway, and was delighted to have found this pub, which is well off the beaten track, especially in the dark. The difference between the public bar and the lounge/restaurant area...More

First visit for all four of us. Felt like we’d arrived deep in the country even though only minutes from the M3. A lovely classic country pub with traditional restaurant. Even in November the gardens still look lovely so would happily return on a summer...More

Took a chance and stopped here on our way back from Winchester as I had heard good things about the food and service - to my delight there was a table for two available and I wasn't disappointed - crispy duck cakes with a gorgeous...More

They accept dogs, have a decent selection of food and a lovely building. Would recommend it for a stop off on a long journey.

Had midweek lunch with friends at this small country pub on the edge of the village. Big advantage for us was that it was close to the M3. Service was good with the landlord taking our orders and being genuinely keen to engage with customers...More

We held a post-funeral family gathering at this lovely inn. The buffet provided was high quality and more than adequate in quantity. A good range of ales and a cosy venue for such an occasion.

Yes we do use rapeseed but we also use olive oil and butter. The only place we use the rapeseed oil is in our fryer. If your sister makes the chefs aware they can use another oil.
