It was our second visit to De verborgen tuin and though it had been half a year ago, we visited Belgium, we felt like it was a month ago. The welcome, the recognition, the whole concept of the restaurant, it's just like visiting family. The table was beautifully set at the fireplace and the hostesses were perfect in their presentations... More

This was such a great experience. We actually did not know that De verborgen tuin has a Michelin star and has had it for years. The hostess (wife to the chef) was so friendly and made us feel great. We were seated in the living room close to the fire and all of us chose the "Mystery Menu", where the... More

The food was extremely tasty but not comparable to other places with the same level. One fish was very near to extremely salty, on the other fish dish there was hardly any seasoning. The mix of ingredients was not always perfect and the amount of flavors in one dish is slightly exaggerated. All in one the food misses some more... More

Visited the restaurant on the occasion of my birthday. We selected the extended gourmand menu (7courses). We were treated with a few very nice small dishes to get going. A.o. a fresh green gazpacho and a delicious shrimp tempura. The trip through the menu was a true revelation of taste. Starting with two variations of langoustine, ending with a delicious... More

Comments are very positive on this site and I agree with most of it : we went a few times in the recent past and I must admit : this is cooking at an international level. Fine and often surprising combinations with delicious ingredients. If you don't want to spend a lot of money, the "menu confiance" is a good... More

Geraardsbergen, being a real drawback, has not much to offer in the culinary field. The "verborgen tuin" is really an exception, especially if you put your faith in the hands of the chef. The menu is surprising, varied and delicate; so are the accompanying wines. Every time we came here, we discovered unknown dishes. Service is correct and relax.

Geraardsbergen being my hometown, I absolutely want to promote this litle gem to all visitors of the region. I already had dinner there 3 times, and I will definately go back again, and again. It is run by a young and enthusiastic couple, striving to offer you a unique culinary experience. The Verborgen Tuim serves a modern world kitchen based... More
