This pub has been on our radar for 30 years. It has always been good. It has moved with the times and the menu is modern and interesting. Still with a fishy bias. The FOH Paul was helpful and interesting and the waiting staff were charming. Crab soup - delicious. Smoked salmon Mille feuille - scrummy. Steak - cooked as... More

We were travelling on route to Scotland and had stopped off in Newcastle to visit friends and they recommended The Jolly Fisherman pub to us. We thought it sounded too good to miss so stopped in for lunch. We sat outside as it was a lovely day and we had our dog with us (we could have taken him inside... More

We had a cottage opposite the pub and ended up eating there 4 times in the week The location is superb and the good weather allowed us to sit outside The menu was extensive and everything we ate was superb The highlight was the scotch egg with kipper

Had dinner here with my family and couldn't have asked for a nicer setting. The views out over the sea and towards dunstanburgh castle are incredible. The menu was varied and had lots of really nice sounding dishes. My husband and I both really enjoyed our food. It was well-presented and full of flavour. Very reasonably priced for the quality.... After a walk to Dunstanburgh, this is all we craved, crab sandwiches and chips. Super tasty food, I had fish soup delicious. Dogs allowed in lower bar area, great views on a nice day.

This is a great pub to visit if in the area. they do a vast selection of foods eg soup, fish dishes & sandwiches which are ideal light lunches. Service was friendly and fairly quick despite the busy atmosphere. Myself & my partner would happily visit here again.

The Jolly Fisherman Craster Northumberland It was a bright sunny day and a very busy lunchtime when we visited as I recall. A Wednesday it was, during the Easter school holidays. But apparently it is usually this way. Recently updated and refurbished – with (still) lovely views of the sea. The grog I had – Timothy Taylor's Landlord - was... More

Great pub with superlative sea views from the beer garden. Comprehensive seafood menu and good service despite being busy during Easter. Recommended.

I needed somewhere for an early lunch after cycling from Felton. The Fishing Boat Inn wasn’t open by the time I got there, so I pressed on to charming Craster. The café opposite the Jolly Fisherman was doing a roaring trade and this meant that there was no room on the patio for me and my bike. I saw a... More

Visited on Saturday 15th April. Have been many times in the past. It was very busy being the Easter holidays. There were 3 people behind the bar: a very friendly smiley lady and two others who gave the impression they really didn't want to be there. Getting served was a nightmare as they had no clue as to who was... More
