Popped in with my fiancée and her parents, it was a special occasion and I had mentioned how great the fish and chips are, steak pie and 3 portions of fish and chips were ordered, my fiancées steak pie wasn't as good as previous times, the fish was fine but the chips were over cooked and difficult to eat, a... This was a return trip after a 3 year absence and we were impressed again by the meals we had, good portions and full of flavour. We ate on two separate nights and both times the food was great. Friendly staff as well so a pleasant night in Kippford

Chicken Madras special of the day was simply lumps of chicken thrown into a pre prepared vegetarian Madras sauce and then served on a cold plate. Chicken lumps were still cold in the middle. One staff and one trainee were not very interested and made themselves scarce very quickly after receiving complaint. Would not recommend this place.

We spent a fantastic evening at the Anchor Hotel in front of a lovely fire place sampling the excellent beers and food. A great way to warm up after a winter beach walk. The staff and locals were really friendly and we will be returning soon.

Called in without booking and were received cordially. Had an amazing seafood platter and real ale which was delightful. Travelled to this inn from Silloth Cumbria more than once. Has an inviting atmosphere which draws one back.

We normally drop by here every year for a bite to eat, and we where definitely underwhelmed this time. Admittedly, my burger was ok, but for £11 I'd expect a little bit more. My girlfriend had a chicken mayonnaise baguette, and it was absolutely inedible. As well as being cold, it is was rock solid, stale. My mum had a... More

Our friend took us there and treated us for lunch. I had half lobstor with sauce for main course. It was delicious. Starter was buttered squid. We are definately going back for good nice food there again for sure.

Its busy but you would expect that as the location and atmosphere is great, food is excellent and the place is lovely. Its dog friendly in the bar area as well, although don't panic as the area at... The helpings were generous and service was prompt. Steak pie and fish & chips particularly recommended. Limited range of real ales available too.
