Myself, family and friends have visited the quaint hidden gem, Hook Line and Sinker on many occasions - never have we left feeling disappointed or hungry. It's a rare find - will keep going back again and again!

We visited Hook, line and sinker on our way to Cape Town and being in a restaurant next to the sea we ordered seafood meals. The fish was not fresh and tasteless. My wife's salad was old and not crispy . We could not finish these meals and left very dissatisfied. We won't return.

Heard mixed reviews but our experience was simply amazing. Jacky and Stephan were warm friendly and genuinely wonderful hosts. The fish and prawns were gorgeous. My husband is not a great fish eater but he loved it. The pudding was to die for. Will definitely be back. To all you people who moaned and complained I suggest you go to... More

We visited this place on the recommendations of friends and we were utterly dissatisfied . The calamari was oily and we didn't enjoy it. My friend's fish was over spiced and not enjoyable. Service was average and we won't be returning.

Apparently booking in advance and confirming is very important. Also it helps if you're not fussy because they only have 2 things on the menu on any one day, but they do them well They do cater for dietary requirements, but a bit begrudgingly and not very well If you like prawns, and prawns are on offer on the day,... Not for the fine diner...goid pirtions.rustic atmosphere and I like that the menu is different every day...depending on availability...not for the snobs...but for food lovers a unexplainable experience of fresh food...15 years ago visited first time and a few times a year since...never been disappointed...the focus is on the food and it's tastes...a must do and a treat..never disappointed...

After having dinned there every evening during our five months stay in the Overberg, we want to thank Jacky and Stephan for the quality of their cuisine and their dedication. The cuisine is straight forward without pretending to be any thing else then what it is: Fresh, Quality products cooked in a direct way. The added bonus is the warm... More

We booked well in advance and ordered their seafood as everyone was saying that their fish is always fresh. Well with our bad luck the fish was not fresh and was badly cooked. We were very disappointed and needless to say that we won't come back.

After reading T.A reviews for this restaurant we decided to go and have a seafood meal . Good decision. The fish and calamary we ordered was fresh and well prepared. Somehow expensive but we enjoyed and we will return soon. Service friendly.

I have Fish and Chip at least once a week when home but this was the best I have ever eaten. The Restaurant is nothing more than a Tin shack and is run by a Husband and Wife team that are characters. No plates as you are given a paper mat. The fish and chips are then given to you... More
