Excellent & welcoming dining pub, dog friendly too. We have been a few times when visiting the area and every time the food, service and ambience has been wonderful both at lunch time and in the evening. Worth driving a bit out of your way for & there's a cute little antique emporium type place opposite if you fancy a... More

Two very satisfied customers. Delicious food, obviously lovingly prepared and well presented. Canapes of liver parfait and a ruhbarb sauce along with a beetroot soup yummy little morsels. Pigeon starter, pink and moist, the soup was lush. Our steaks were perfect. The desert consisted of a pana cotta, lemon posset, carrot cake and a ammeretto parfait for two people proved... More

Luckily we live at the west end of Dorset so only a couple of miles away so for any special occasion this is our choice. On this occasion we came for lunch on a whim without booking and as the two previous visits the food and service were excellent. I think they have accommodation and if the ambiance and cleanliness... Old Inn with a pretty modern menu, based on local produce. Excellent fish pie and pork belly, daily specials. We managed to book a table at fairly short notice, so book at busy times, friendly service

Had a lovely meal with friends. The food tasted delicious and was well presented. The staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant was fully booked so make sure you book a table. Can't wait to go back.

Very simply this is one of the best meals I have ever had. I have never tasted scallops like this restaurant serves. I give this restaurant 5 stars

Warm and inviting atmosphere with good service and top quality fresh food. All good and very pleasing. Cheese board is very well chosen but a little expensive and rather meagre portion - best stick with the excellent sweet deserts!

First time visit, have passed by many a time though, we decided to stop for a light lunch. Friendly service that is not intrusive or over the top, in a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. Excellent beef sandwich on granary bread, chunky chips and coleslaw, followed by a lovely blood orange sorbet. This strikes me more a restaurant than pub, judging by the other... More

We ate here after getting a recommendation and were not disappointed. Definitely falls into the category of gastropub with an interesting menu and exemplary food presentation which tasted as good as it looked. The interior retains old world charm and is warm and inviting. Our waiting staff were both very polite and pleasant. Would have no hesitation recommending and look... More
