This is set on the Main Street in about the centre of town. Looked interesting, so went for the hash stack, and flat white. It was quite busy, so sat outside on the footpath seating, and watched the traffic going bye. Coffee came out fast, and meal soon after. Very enjoyable. Will try here on my next visit through for... The place looks great, good parking, nice atmosphere, great food, but THE SERVICE IS LACKING A GOOD KICK IN THE PANTS...having waited a long time for our breakfast meals, my travelling companion was delivered a Meat stack meal when he had ordered a Vegetarian stack meal (both on menu) and the kitchen staff had the rudeness to bring the slip... Soul breakfast and vegetables soul average meals. Ordinary sausage. Watties hash browns and a corn fritter like you'd get at a fish and chip shop.

We always stop at this cafe, this time we had breakfast and as usual it was beautiful food. We also took sandwiches and cake away for our lunch. All great

My mother stopped here a week or so ago and ordered a veg breakfast and a coffee...she then realised she didn't have her purse so cancelled the food and just had the coffee. She then sat down to have her coffee and then a few minutes later a staff member came over and quietly offered to give mum a meal...how... More

There's not a great deal of choice in Taihape, we thought this place was the best. 4 of us had breakfast, all meals were good. Parking was easy out front, seating is comfortable, tables well spaced. Coffee was quite good. Summary: If you need a place to make a stop, this is probably the best in the area.

Two friends had recommended Soul to us but our experience was largely disappointing. It was a busy Sunday lunchtime so it took about 20 minutes before my vegetarian nachos arrived (which we'd been told to expect) - but my two companions' meals took a further ten minutes so I was finishing mine just as theirs appeared. All the meals were... More

Stopped by for breakfast snack and coffee before hitting the road again. Great selection of gluten free food and lovely coffee. Will definitely stop off there again.

An alternative for travellers heading north or south through Taihape, but not a great alternative. Oh the menu is standard fare, and served well enough. And there’s a fireplace and kids’ area. The toilets are clean and the food is averagely good by New Zealand café standards. Told that there was a lengthy wait for cooked food (we’d fancied a... More

The cafe was busy, we ordered food with coffee and hot chocolate. Our meals arrived and were lovely. The coffee arrived, we finished our meals and then enquired about the hot chocolate, told it was coming. We waited while another 8 or so hot drinks were served to other customers. Enquired again only to be told it was coming. After... More
