This is a very good take away place in Taumarunui, your meals are put in a little box then a bag, great very friendly staff, value for money only open from 5pm though, gets very busy during the ski season so if you got the phone number (07) 8966522 then ring your order ahead, you will enjoy your meal

A great place for some of the best fish and chips I have tasted, very pleasant staff, they always have a smile and a friendly greeting.

Had takeaway fish and chips and I really think they're some of the best we've ever had in NZ, and excellent value for money too. The chips were tasty without being greasy and they weren't overloaded with salt as some places do. The fish was fresh and cooked beautifully with a crisp, non-greasy batter. Perfect!

Takeaway or dine in option. Once found a hair in our takeaway toasty and rang to complain - didn't seem to care too much. Not the best but not the worst food establishment.

Prior to the carriage changing hands it was, I believe a very successful business that supplied amazing food and meals by both take away and restaurant. Unfortunately the level of service and the meals have dropped in presentation and size.

We were looking forward to trying out the fish and chips from the carriage but unfortunately, everything was so greasy that we couldn't eat it. Very expensive for greasy fish and chips. Please make sure your oil is hot hot hot and food well drained. Although the service was fantastic, the food and the value of the food was not.

Brilliant! Two pieces of fresh Hoki and scoop of Kumara chips - $9.50! You can't do better than that! Went back more than once during my few days in Taumarunui!! Tino pai!

Sadly, the 'dining' opportunities available in this town are limited. The fish and chips at this place are acceptable, it can just be hard knowing when it will be open!
