We ate here for the first time last Sunday after a recommendation from a friend First impressions always count and the lady who greeted us and served our food was so friendly and kind. Every landlord should have one! The Sunday roast was excellent with more than the average choice of vegetables and prices were very reasonable Another big plus... More

The Haywain is a picturesque, old fashioned pub that offered me and my family a very warm welcome on a busy afternoon. The menu is varied and the food is clearly home made. The prices are very reasonable for the area and the beers were well kept. The only possible criticism was that a dog was allowed to run around... More

Thank you for your review ,an old fashioned pub with homemade food is our aim.Im afraid that probably was our dog ,we do keep him by the bar and discourage him from bothering people at the tables .Sorry we failed on this occassion it can be difficult as hes a sociable dog and some customers encourage him .Thank you again... driving through the Kent countryside yesterday and came across this little gem . Had a lovely lunch , decent menu to choose from , great service and a wide choice of beers and ales . A proper old fashioned English pub :) - which are too few and far between nowadays

An excellent restaurant with good quality food. Good quality homely meals with ample portions. The mango and passion fruit pavlova was to die for! Friendly service and a cosy atmosphere.

My wife and I joined friends here recently at the Haywain. It was super cosy and made you feel at home. We could walk there from up the small road, so location 👍. Place was busy and full of friendly regulars and dogs. We only had drinks, and as stew was on the stove at home. However the menu was... More

Driven past this pub many times and never really thought I must try it. My brother in law suggested going so off we went. A very old and traditional inn, not many of these left nowadays. The food choice was good and very reasonable in price, service was excellent and the food superb. As always the question would I return--YES.

Hadn't been for several years but decided to give it a whirl and so glad we did. It is not often you return to a pub/restaurant after several years and find the same Landlord and Landlady still in place. It was a warm welcome from our lovely waitress and attentive service throughout. There was a great choice of mains, not... More
