This restaurant is well away from the tourist haunts of Puerto Mogan. We called on a Monday evening, when the venue was quiet, but several of the other tables were occupied. The service was first class and the food both excellent in quality and inventive in style, Spanish/Canarian with an eastern twist to some dishes. The range of dishes in the tasting menu was extensive. The only one we were not keen on was the ‘bone marrow’, but that was personal taste rather than a criticism of the cooking. The sommelier was helpful and we had a decent bottle of Canarian wine for under 30 Euro’s, the tasting menu was 70 Euro’s a person so factor that in when visiting, although there are al a Carte alternatives. This is fine dining of a very good order and perhaps if it was in a different location, would probably merit a Michelin Plate recommendation.

We had a fantastic meal at Valle for our anniversary. The first thing you are struck by is the location; set at the bottom of a beautiful valley, cacti at the bottom, sunset behind the mountain/hill in front. It is a very tranquil spot, and ideal for a romantic meal.
We were shown to our table by very attentive staff (unfortunately we did not get their names), presented with two glasses of fizz, and from then the attention to detail was obvious. A gloved hand placed cutlery very carefully onto its stand, napkins were handed to us via tongs, (there were packaged dental kits in the restrooms), and we were directed to the QR code for the menu (Covid). The staff operated in a very quiet, calm and efficient manner, but were very friendly. I was most happy to see a cart full of an extensive range of top rums, of which I asked our waiters several questions. They were very knowledgeable and very patient with me.
The food was of a high quality and presented in a simple but attractive manner. It surprised us that all the food was coming out of quite a small kitchen with only two members of staff in it! We had the beef tenderloin, the chicken thighs that came with rice, and papas arrugadas. Every dish was fantastic, but the hero of the night was the chicken, with some beautiful Thai flavours. For dessert, my wife had Chocolate 5 ways, and I had the Gofio Ice cream. Both were excellent, however I would have preferred mine without the popcorn. Just a personal preference, and no reflection on the dish. We had 3 glasses of wine, 2 rum & cokes, and two fantastic rums to finish (one greatly paired with a block of dark chocolate). The bill surprised us, as it was just over €100. In the UK the rums would have cost about €25 alone!
A beautiful restaurant with top notch staff!

We had lunch here today . We were warmly greeted and shown to our table . It’s simply furnished that matches the building style . Waiters were very knowledgeable and explained the complex dishes clearly . Both had the avocado , tuna and tomato starter . Sounds basic but wow the layers of flavour were wonderful . I had the squid dish for main course which had a very flavoursome lemongrass , galangal , ginger and mild chilli sauce . Delicious . Desserts similar and beautiful . Wines are reasonably priced . Service was impeccable . Highly recommend this restaurant .
The only slight issue was it’s not easy to find - discreet signage and tucked away , but persevere - it’s worth it Need to book

Nice servings and good service, but the food is not really up to par with competing restaurants. Some less fortunate combinations, like the bone marrow with foie gras which was way too fat. The evenings could also be cold and windy here, and you might get at table next to were all the waiters are organizing their work. I would pay slightly less and go to Taste Meson instead, or pay slightly more and go to Los Guayres or La Aquarela. These three restaurants we also visited and they are superb.

If you are hesitating, wondering if this is the place you should make a reservation while on the island- stop browsing and book it now. My husband and I have been eating our way through Spain for 2 weeks on our Honeymoon, Gran Canaria being our last stop. We thought the Michelin Star restaurant in San Sebastián would be the highlight of our trip. We were so, so very wrong.
Valle de Mogán is the most exquisite blend of savoring every morsel on your plate (or whatever beautiful vessel they have presented their creations on), wine pairings which are bold and unusual but work magic, service which exceeds expectations, and an outdoor terrace which feels elegant yet so comfortable. Order the tasting menu- it is worth every penny.
As a chef who has worked at a Michelin Star restaurant in Napa Valley, it is baffling to me that this place does not have a star. It truly is exceptional.

Beautiful restaurant in peaceful location, we ordered the tasting menu of 11 courses which was tasty and varied, some dishes were better than others but overall the standard was high.
Service was very good, waiters were extremely knowledgeable about the dishes and very attentive.
My only improvement would be to replace the cheap ikea furniture and gloopy painted metal tables which somewhat lessen the feeling of it being a special experience. Also a linen napkin would be preferable over a paper one.

Great restaurant! Location, surroundings, view from the terrace, good service creates proper atmosphere for the culinary experience. Took the degustation menu with wine pairing and were pleasantly surprised/impressed. Attention to details, design of plates, sourcing of local products, experimentation with forms and textures worth getting the star soon imho. Will come back next year 😀

This is clearly an ambitious restaurant the cuisine is undoubtedly the most complex and International in the valley. We had the tasting menu, in which each course was designed to surprise us more than the preceding one. All sorts of foams and mousses and odd commitments reflect the continuing influence of El Bulli, even though it long ago closed its doors I would’ve preferred that the food stick a little closer to its a legend canary island roots; actually more in evidence was an oriental influence from the chef who just returned from Bangkok. The wine service is spectacular – – with every course they are offered a fascinating canary island wine that added up to a seminar in the islands wine styles. The meal was not cheap, but it comes Nowhere near the cost of similar meals elsewhere. I should also add that one sits outside on a delightful porch overlooking the valley. Extremely pleasant!

My first visit to this fabulous restaurant in the mountain village of Mogan was in November 2021. Then I had the tasting menu. You can read all about it in my first review with photos.
This review covers my two lunches over the Christmas and New Years holiday. Staying in Puerto de Mogan I jump on the #84 bus to get to the restaurant. Departures are once per hour. Same for the return journey. Check Global bus for the timetable. The stop for the restaurant is El Tostador. When you get off the bus look towards the mountains, and you see the restaurant’s sign and entrance.
Ever since my first visit I have been craving the Baby squids Tom Kha. So for my 2nd lunch I started with Mogan avocado salad with sprouts, fresh cheese and grilled tuna medium done with sour cream and antique mustard. €15.70. The salad was fresh and delicious.
The Baby squids Tom Kha is part of the tasting menu, and a larger portion is available on the à la carte menu. This was my main course. Yummy! €22.80.
I ended with their legendary dessert; Mango yoghurt, served with berries, confit ginger and white chocolate. €8.20.
The above gourmet experience was enhanced by the view and the great service. As a solo visitor they treated my like a VIP and never tried to rush me through the meal. I make reservations via email. Don’t expect to be able to walk in without a reservation.
I highly recommend going for a late lunch to take advantage of the daylight to be able to enjoy the views. Bring a jacket and a scarf just in case since it could be cooler in the mountains. You are seated outside. The tasting menu is worth it at €76. Go for it the first time, then go back for à la carte the next time.
My 3rd lunch was equally delicious with the highlight being the Red Chicken curry with coconut milk, lemongrass, galanga, lime kaffir, Thai chili and coriander. €18.90.
I will be back!

Mu husband, 16 year old son and I are all foodies and this is the most amazing meal we have ever had. The setting is beautiful matched by the great food and service. We were looking for something a bit different and found this online after searching for ages. Set in an old farmhouse we sat outside on one of its terraces
My husband and I had the green papaya salad with shrimps which was refreshing and spicy at same time. My son had Iberico ham which was expensive but fantastic Next was beef and goats cheese sauce for me and the pork belly for the boys. Followed by ice cream popcorn powder and meringues
Service was unbelievable. I had dropped my napkin on the floor but didnt realise and as if by magic the waiter appeared with a new one handed to me by tongs!!! Sounds pretentious but definitely not. We had dressed up but people were there in jeans and there was both families and couples.
A bit off beaten track as it’s up in hills but well worth it and not expensive a taxi ride from Puerto Rico or Puerto de Morgan. GO !

As our usual 'go to' restaurant was closed, we decided to try Valle. The taster menu got good reviews, so we ordered that, and enjoyed the fabulous setting of this pretty restaurant. That menu has eleven courses, and we had a very romantic evening, so why only 4 stars?
We found the table to be very wide, so if you sit opposite your partner, it's hard to have a quiet conversation, or touch hands. One other thing about the table, paper napkins with €76 food isn't acceptable.
The last issue we had has already been mentioned by others; most of the food is amazing, mojo foam, and other nice touches are great, but two or three dishes came out later in the meal which were quite heavy. E.g. the marrow bone was so tasty, but the foie gras with it so big, that this dish didn't work for me.
The chef is obviously very talented, and the tastes and textures so exciting, I think just a little better 'balance' could make the menu exceptional.
Do try Valle de Mogan; we go again, but have fewer dishes.

This lovely restaurant is located in Mogan, the mountain village. Easily reached by bus # 84 from the bus station in Puerto de Mogan. It a 20 minutes bus ride. Parking available onsite if you get there by car.
Make sure you book your table in advance. I did the reservation via e-mail using the address found on their website.
I had the 11 courses tasting menu at €74 per person, and two glasses of wine. One red and one white. And two 1/2 liter bottles of sparkling water. Total bill was €93. The 2,5 hours gastronomic experience was worth every Euro!
I’m expecting they will receive a Michelin star soon.
The weather could be chilly in the mountains, so bring a scarf and a jacket as seating is outside. The restaurant has blankets available.
In addition to the set tasting menu, they have à la carte menu.
The restaurant is not all about fine dining. The mountain walkers also gravitate to this restaurant in the afternoon for a late lunch. I bet a meal here is the reward they have been waiting for all day.
It was my first visit to this restaurant. I will definitely be back!

When you see the recomandation on trip advisor, you think Valle de Mogan this is a hidden gem. The food is prepared with a great creative tuch, for sure. In our opinion to much look, and to little taste. The vinelist is very little, and did not live up to our expectations. However, the setting is very pittoreque, the staff realy attentive and if you are looking for a romantic place, this might be the place. We can give it another try...

We had lunch here on a Sunday with friends when we were in Gran Canaria earlier this month, it is really a magical place we had seats on the terrace, so we could enjoy the beautiful views. Where do I start about the food, everything was done to perfection I had the Lobster and it was the nicest one I have every tasted, everyone was very happy and the wine pairing was delicious. The staff are efficient friendly and very helpful. Well worth a visit and we hope to go again when in Gran Canaria.

My wife and I did the tasting menu with wine pairing and could not have had a better experience. We ate at a Michelin star restaurant last week and both agreed that the food here was more creative and better. I walked away saying this was the best restaurant experience of my life. Do not miss out on this excellent restaurant!
