Haven't been in a while, but it was good back when and I like the atmosphere. Casual and comfortable.

Offers great tico food and great service, along with a nice bar and outdoor area. It is relatively close to town.

Not great food....but, friendly atmosphere and nice wine list. Our food was cold which is not great for a rellano! Parking is easy right on route 3 near the gas station.

We went to La Trilla after a long first day here as it was one of the few restaurants still open. There was only one server that spoke no English so maybe that is why some say not friendly, I think the language barrier makes it more difficult. Our food was hot, served fairly quick and we were one of... More

Other than the Yucca Fries, the food was just mediocre. The beef fajitas were chewy, and the grilled fish was okay, but not great. The service was especially not great. The host/server seemed annoyed that we were there so early (7pm). Or, maybe he just was not happy with a same sex couple. I am not sure. Nonetheless, spend your... More

La Trilla was recommended by our hosts but I'd have to say not my favorite restaurant so far in our 4 days we've been in Atenas. Server was not the friendliest we've encountered (he was the only one working but we were 1 of 2 tables.) and food was mediocre. Nothing spectacular nor worth returning any time in case the... More

The food here was very good & the atmosphere is very Costa Rican. Lots of hand carved wooden tables & chairs. There is plenty of parking & Expats to meet as well. We will definitely be back.

This was a nice place to have a relaxing dinner. Right off the road and easy to find. Food is good -- nothing amazing - standard CR things but average price and type for the area. Nice server. Cold beer.

Just had an excellent lunch there today. For 3 people we ordered 6 Bocas (appetizers) and liked them all. Chicarrones were awesome. Patacones with guac and beans were incredible. Also had seafood rice, yucca frita, chile rellenos, and garlic shrimp. Everything was great. 6 beers and 6 bocas with tip was $60. Sorry but the only pic I have is... More

A quite attractive open air restaurant set back from Route 3 close to the Co-Op supermarket. Service was friendly and helpful as we tried to make up our minds on what to eat. Our friends recommended, no, challenged us to try the beef tongue as a starter. We had to admit it was quite tasty and like tender beef from... More
