We were there after 25 fountains trip. It was cold, we were tired. It was too late for a lunch, but too early for a dinner. We ordered two beef empanadas and a chicken one. They all were very good. The beer (Coral), was also very ok. The restaurant seemed to be prepared for the evening (opened fire, all the... More

This place is bad. The setting of the café could have been beautiful. But it wasn't. It was 4°C outside and no more than 10°C inside.. staff watching TV, old meat tasting really bad.. chicken was pink in the middle.. drinks were ice cold, which is normally good, but we froze our behinds of.. toilets were OK, despite earlier reviews,... We originally called in to the Churrascaria Grill (next to Jungle Rain) to ask directions to the Levada car park. The lady behind the bar was very helpful. After the walk we went back there and ordered a pizza and beer. The good news was the pizza was very good - freshly cooked and well stacked - and the eating... More

Please, don't go to this place. The waiter was very unkind for us. He had one thinks to do... watching tv serious. When we ordered coffe, cake and soup The waiter was startled.... Asked us - only this? Food was not good and unfresh. The WC was ugly, destroyed and stinking. I don't recommended this place!

When you're alone in a wide region you don't have to take care about service. So, do not expect too much when visiting this jungle.

Stopped here for a drink after the 25 Fontes walk. Friendly service and live music from our driver and one of the guys from the bar. Nice stop after a tiring walk.

In resume this place is a Tourist Trap. No discussion on this. Please ignore good ratings on this place because we are locals. Their prices are higher than the average in the island and the quality is really bad. (really) They just use frozen meat, the drinks are not made on time (stored from the previous day probably). I've had... More

this was a welcome place to stop, but dont be fooled by the address into thinking that it is anywhere near the village of Calheta because it is actually located at the top of a local mountain range and its quite a journey getting to here. the location is very isolated and this gives it much of its charm, with... Ordered the world worst pizza here. Undercooked, sloppy and totally over priced.. Nearly fell over backwards when I got the bill. Total and utter rip off. They taking advantage of tourist as there really is no other option close by. If I had to go again, I would have bought a twix and a packet of crisps.

Jungle Rain Restaurant is the only one on the island, which tries to resemble the most hidden jungle on the planet.

The restaurant is unique in Europe, as its decoration and theme environment simulate a tropical forest. The “robot” animals, the trees and decorative plants, and the special effects with background music recreate a genuine “forest” that makes your meal a very special and unforgettable experience.
There, you can closely observe the behavior and the wild roaring of several animals in their habitats, such as the lion, gorillas, an elephant, the anaconda or a crocodile. Simulated thunderstorm, fog and rain complete the scenery and give it a more realistic touch.

We offers you the best in traditional Madeiran and Portuguese cuisine, as well as special dishes of wild meat.
