Stopped here as part of an coach excursion that was filling time by adding beach stop. Spotted this place up the hill and thought I would investigate. What a find, views over the beach and sea, everything cooked freshly. Excellent calamari, would definitely recommend a visit.

We had lunch and beers here - after strenuous days on the beach below. The team are lovely, the food delicious and the drinks all reasonably proved. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and make me want to stay in the apartments which are next door and owned by the same people.

The food is delicious, the atmosphere is superb. There is something for everyone on the menu and the family also boast spacious and comfortable lodgings next to the tavern.

It is the second we are in Frangokastello and at Sifis' tavern. Just a few words for their dishes as the next step is to go there and taste them It is homemade food; that says all. Everything is fresh there. My son went for pasta with minced meat and Sifis told him "I hope you are not very hungry... More

Sifis and his family take great care to produce delicious food - all locally sourced and served with warmth and generosity. There seems to be some confusion between this taverna 'Ammos' and another with a similar name by the castle: 'pdegia' has reviewed 'Orthi Ammos' (by the castle) and has uploaded a picture. This is NOT Sifis's taverna, as the... More

We decided to get married in Frangokastello and chose Sifis and Katerinas wonderful taverna to do so. We had a blast and the best wedding celebration we could think of. Everyone was so helpful with decoration, fantastic food, drinks and the setting and we celebrated until late at night. Sifis, Katerina and the whole family will forever be in our... More

This family-run taverna serves tasty local dishes using local produce. We have eaten creamy local cheese, fresh fish and stifado and other similar dishes made from local lamb, pork or rabbit. You are invited to visit the kitchen to view and select what you are going to eat. Service is friendly and attentive.

Nice location by the sea! Good food a bit delay to be served and to eat. Average prices. I suggest not to seat under the trees at night as there are drops due to humidity that falls on you and in the plates. Better to have a table further from the sea and under the cpver.

Sifis and Katerina (and their family) have made this an amazing place to eat. It is beautifully kept and the food is very fresh and there is always a good choice of prepared casserole dishes from the kitchen - go in and look - don't just look at the menu! It is set abopve the dunes (and nothing to do... More
