You need an afternoon off to visit this place. Vintage ambient, Stabi by Kuzma turntable, bunch of old plates, never ending story of simple but fabulous food and drink. 2 days after Michelin experience in Zagreb you can not say what is better. This one was also amazing but completely different way. Back to the roots kitchen with explosion of... More

A group of 5 of us had lunch that turned into dinner since it is a kind of slow food restaurant. First when we enter a waitress asked us how much time do we have and served us raspberry schnapps that she insist we should all have even if two of us said they do not wish to have it.... More

Wel, this might be one of the once in a lifetime shows. Because it is not about food only, it is a show also. Slavko waves his macheta arounf his restaurant in any condition he is. Food keeps coming, wine gets refilled. Do not forget, this is not ordinary restaurant. Reserve at least 5 to 6 hours for it. Relax... More

First of all, by my opinion this is one of the best restaurants in Slovenia. They served local food on their own way, but tasty and nice as you never experienced in that way. Overall they transformed well known local restaurant in some kind of slow food restaurant. But not classical. First of all, the quantity of food is really... More

Seriously..it felt like they were selling you an experience, more so than food, although that was delicious don't get me wrong! A few words come to mind to describe this place and the food, including interesting AND delicious (beef tongue, who knew!), theatrical (the owner and head chef is quite a character and seemed to be particularly "on" that day... I'd heard a bit of hype about the craziness of the experience, the length of the meal and the quality of the food. My experience here did not disappoint on any of those fronts. This is a very unusual restaurant experience for an American. We were a group of about 10 and there was another group of about 20 as... More

Been to Skarucna a couple of times with prospective customers and the result is very consistent: very typical atmosphere and lots and lots of great food and drinks. Strongly recommend it but prepare yourself for an endurance battle between you and loads of food. Best enjoyed in larger groups.

I would say...incredible ❤ This is a place you must visit if you travel through Slovenia from Ljubljana to the North or if you just like to enjoy delicious food served in an environment where time stopped 50 years ago. So food lovers and enthusiasts should not miss this opportunity.
