Tony's is one of the few restaurants in Furnas and one of the reasons we ended up there. We wanted to try the typical cozido but we asked for no pork, they agreed, and they still put half of the plate as pork. For this reason we couldn't really eat and get full. We also ordered squid but the price-quality... More

We had an amazing cozido geothermally cooked stew at Tony's. One portion easily served two people. It is high on the protein side! Large lumps of beef, chicken, pork and sausages. All beautifully cooked and tender. We tried cozidos elsewhere in town and were not impressed. This was quality meat... not pig's feet as we had at Miroma down the... More

Last time we visited Sao Miguel island, we ran out of time to try cozido while visiting Furnas. So, on our return visit, we made a point of getting recommendations of where to go for the best cozido. What is cozido? Boiled cabbage, potatoes, pork and chicken. Large on quantity, low on flavour. Compared to the excellent seafood, steak, and... More

We found the restaurant atmosphere to be lovely and the service was very good. The meals were okay. Good but not what we would consider fantastic. We had the fish fillet of the day and a cheeseburger.

Had the traditional cozido caldeira - a meat stew cooked from volcanic steam. It was good, tasted like a hearty home cooked meal. Reservations are recommended, and you may also need to inform them that you are going to have the cozido, as there are a limited number of portions.

We've really enjoyed our meal. Cozido - something for meat enthusiasts, specyfic taste (13 EUR, plate for two 20 EUR really big portion). I really recommend Tony's beaf stake (16 EUR - also big one).

We took the stew. The meat was so delicious that we took the rest with us (which we normally would not do. And prices for drinks were more than reasonable.

We went here as part of a trip. The food is supplied from the volcano ground which cooks it is a huge pot. It is unbelievably good. You feel so welcome and it is such a good day out. Thoroughly recomend.

We ate here for four nights in Furnas. Huge portions so eventually we just shared one main and one salad between us but they didn't seem to mind. Fast service, straightforward tasty meals. Always busy and friendly.

After bathing in the hot volcanic pool at the nearby botanical garden, four of us went to Tony'a for the large meat and vegetable stew cooked over volcanic heat. The portions are enormous: we ordered 2 portions for 4 and it was still a lot. The veggies are delicious, the meats include pork, veal, beef suasages. It's a well-seasoned boiled... More
