This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel and what an excellent recommendation it was. It is situated off the beaten track in what the locals loosely term, 'the jungle'. It was certainly out of the way. It's interior is very simple and very rustic. It was recommended as a seafood restaurant and you will not be disappointed. However,... More

Recommended as the best local seafood restaurant on the island offering true creole cooking. Unfortunately all the seafood on the menu is frozen. What a disappointment.

We visited this restaurant whilst staying at the Banyan Tree during august 2016. Not easy to find but our taxi driver knew the location. Food was very good and the service was very friendly and a bonus was half the price of the hotel. Would recommend but understand how to get there before you travel there as the restaurant is... its not too easy to find it as its off the main road towards Takamake beach. The spot is a luch tropical area. Parking in front of the restaurant. Food is typical Creole chicken, fish, bats terrine (La rousette), curries. Recommand to take a lemongrass tea for digestion. They plant it next to their house. Family restaurant and the kids... We visited this very, very friendly and hot restaurant (no air condition) - but with a fantastic atmosphere and view right into the woods. We got an avocado salad, that was extremely tasty - and found out the avocados were actually home grown. Then we ordered crabs and had a great time digging out the flesh, what a great sauce... More
