A very friendly reception greeted us when we nipped out for a spur of the moment supper. Delighted with our steak and ale pie,very good quality ingredients,well cooked and presented.

very disappointing Christmas meal no crackers on table as was told would be, had to ask for them, vegetables were hard and burnt, Yorkshire pud cold, one pudding was not as requested, starter was not nice prawns were tasteless, over charged on drinks by £35.00, was rectified when this was pointed out all in all most unsatisfactory

We went here on Friday for the Jazz night. The food and service were 2nd to non. The band, Jazz Incorporated, were at their best. The atmosphere was outstanding, the audience were up dancing on the tables and chairs. FAB-U-LAS.

We had a really nice Sunday lunch here today , we both had the local beef , and the apple & rhubarb crumble was delicious Well recommended

we went to the star to try their fish & chips special offer night', i can honestly say we have never had better. we got to the star early, about 6.15, to find a happy group of locals enjoying a chat and probably more than a few beers, nice friendly atmosphere. we ordered our fish & chips @ about 7.00... The Star was one of our favourite pubs, and we have fond memories of a warm welcome, delicious Spanish food, good beer and, if you asked for the specials list, some spectacular wines. 3 times in as many months I've eaten here now and it was the best yet. A warm beautiful old country pub well worth a visit.

Booked the night before for a nice meal with my wife. On arriving at an empty pub with a few locals outside we were told that the chef had family things to do and that it was a restricted menu.
