This was a truly fantastic experience for our family of four. The food, drink and atmosphere was simply sublime. Advised by the host to our accommodation that the restaurants speciality was the Arroz de Patto (rice with duck), we were keen to sample. Starter, main and deserts were all exceptional - house red was gorgeous. Excellent value for money, thank... More

This restaurant is great. They serve portuguese tradicional food, made like in old days in grandmother house. Arroz de cabidela is excelent, arroz de pato, pato no forno... as sobremesas e as entradas, all great! And there is another attration, The owner is a story-teller, he tells old and ancient oral storys. Very Good!

There is little to add to all these excellent reviews, except that the owner is a story-teller by profession (!) and can be hired... The fellows knows all kinds of historical regional "fairy tales" by heart and will entertain for hours... There's one drawback however, he speaks portuguese only! And one final point: Sundays are special, because the usual veggie... More

This is actually one of my favourite restaurants. The specialties are Pato Assado, Arroz de Cabidela de Pato and Arroz de Pato. The entries are delicious as well, with the traditional Broa Doce and Pastel de Massa Tenra. Being in Tentugal by now you must have heard about the local Pastel de Tentugal, they have them here, yet i'd recommend... More

One of the best places to eat typical Portuguese food in the centre of the country. The roasted duck and "chicken blood rice" are the house special dishes.

We spent 3 days in Figueira da Foz staying with a local friend who took my wife and myself to Casa Amenio for lunch. He was justifiably proud of the quality of the cooking and the restaurant itself. It is set in the quaint but typical village of Montemor-o-Velho and looks nothing from the street. There is no outside seating... More
