You have to eat here for dinner at least once if you go to Kata beach!!. Food is cheap, service is fantastic and if you go there for dinner it doesn't get any better than this. The restaurant and bar are right next to each other so you can eat, drink and be very merry with great reggae music being... More

Great place to enjoy a couple beers after a long day at the beach. People watching here is 1A. The only negative thing that happened to me was that I had to remind the waiter to bring me my change, that he wasnt getting a 450THB tip on a 550 bill but maybe he did forget. I havent eaten here... There is nowhere better to finish off your day at Kata beach than at Ska Bar. Nestled into the rocks at one end of the beach, the beer is icy cold and the music and atmosphere brilliant.

Went especially to visit this bar when we were in Thailand as it promotes itself to be a Ska/reggae bar. I am not sure when Pitbull and J Lo became Ska cause thats the music that was played. Sadly disappointed don't waste your holiday on going here if you think you are going for ska or reggae music as you... More

Came for a drink with my partner. Gin and tonic-hardly any gin in and a beer. When we asked for the bill they just quoted a figure. I paid it and it didn't feel right so ran in and looked at the menu with the waiter-he had charged 200 bhat over what it cost! They apologised-but if they do that... More

This Bar would not know Ska Music from Prince Buster to Madness, Specials to Selector. Music preference is Club Music or J-lo or Pit Bull Definately NOT for Ska Fans. Only Sits about 25 people. Definitely OverRated as a Name to all Ska Fans

Loved this place. It's just a tiny spot clinging to the rocks at the south end of Kata Beach. Perfect place to hang, listen to some reggae (a little blues, jazz, rock) and have some beers as the sun goes down. Definitely will make you feel you're on Island time.

Quite a nice little corner of the beach. Play some nice chill out music, serve nice cold (if pricey) beer. Seats are tiered up and under a large tree. And can see the whole beach and all the people releasing their incendiary devices, I mean Chinese lanterns. Only two spoilers. The habitual smokers who think it's perfectly acceptable to inflict... We went there for a dinner. I took the most basic dish I could - spaghetti bolognese. In fact that was barely warm, it was not good in taste at all, nor my cocoa shake. I'm just wondering how is it possible to screw up so much that kind of meal...? Maybe this is a good place to have a... More

We went for drinks only here as my Lonely Planet guide book recommended it! There seems to be a lack of places just for a drink in Kata so thought we'd give it a go. Challenging to find the entrance without swimming you have to go through a restaurant. Sitting with the rocks, looking out to sea is nice but... More
