We stayed here for one night with my mother and were given rooms in the converted pigsty which were surprisingly comfortable. Breakfast was great and we were served by a friendly lady who couldn't do enough for us. Unfortunately check-in was less than satisfactory. We had to squeeze in between two customers sitting at either end of the bar who... More

After a morning's walk on the nearby Saint's Way Path, we were ready for a good pub lunch, and our walking guide recommended the Crown. We both ordered one of the daily specials--pork belly with mash, gravy, and roasted vegetables. When it arrived, it was picture-perfect to look at, but even better, it was the most delicious meal of our... More

Having been to the Crown on a number of occasions over the past 10 years we and another couple decided on a nice evening supper. What a disapointment, having booked a table for 8 pm we waited nearly half an hour for our order to be taken. the water we asked for had to be asked for 5 times, we... More

Could not fault the quality of the meal or the service from the young man waiting at the table. However the female bar staff- senior and junior were as miserable as sin. It was the start of the main holiday season so probably busier than usual but no customers no job!

I have driven past the turning from the main road a number of times. Today we stopped with my uncle and aunt. Lovely warm pub, very attentive staff. The food was excellent, we will return again and again. I had the chowder it was fantastic, but I am fish mad. A great amount of choice available.

We had a family lunch here and it was absolutely lovely. The sun was out so we sat in the very pretty garden. There was loads on the menu to choose from. My partner and I had the pulled pork (yum), cousin Sue had pasty and chips which she loved and grandma had a bowl of soup which she declared... More

Booked bed and breakfast here after reading reviews for 6 people for 3 days to go to a funeral in Bodmin. Could not have picked anywhere better. We had a bit of difficulty finding it due to roadworks ( and the fact that none of us has the best eyesight to read signs until we have driven past them) Could... More

We took the visiting members of our family to The Crown for a good, traditional pub lunch ... & it didn't disappoint! Between us we had a pasty; a ham sandwich & a ploughmans - all homemade & delicious.

Popped in here after somewhere else we visited first was fully booked, we were not disappointed. The food was good, staff were friendly and beer was plentiful. I had sirloin steak which was £17.25 plus £3 for a sauce, it was well cooked and portion size was good.

I have reviewed the Crown Inn a couple of times. This time it was different: swift service, good food, altogether better than previous visits. Previously it was always a puzzle why, with a brand new extended kitchen food took so long to arrive. Not now, so perhaps the staff have changed - for the better! Waitress was cheerful, quick &...
