Golden Fish Restaurant & Bar is located on Phuket's West coast, fronting onto Bang Tao's beautiful and lengthy expanse of beach. Please accept our invitation to visit our beachside restaurant and enjoy our delicious and truly authentic Thai cuisine, prepared daily using only the freshest of local ingredients by our outstanding chefs. Super food, super service and a super place to see sunset. We enjoyed two lovely meals and we were well cared for. We asked for phet mak spicy and the som tam was delicious. The massaman was full of flavour and cooked with vegetables only, to suit our needs. The menu was extensive and we could have ordered more, but the massaman was that good, we had it both nights. The beers were served with a smile too! I should also add that the price was excellent! If you are staying close by, it is worth the beach walk to enjoy a relaxing night. If you are staying a little further, the taxi ride is well worth it.

An affordable restaurant on the beach with very good and genuine food

The restaurant has a big menue with a varied selection of dishes and every single portion that I enjoyed did taste deliciously and were always served really warm and without any further ado. The owner is very nice and has a very pleasant social approach to his guests. Highly recommended

Excellent food, unbeatable location

We were staying at nearby resort Saii Laguna and pleasantly discovered this beachside eatery. Food is delicious. Service is excellent and the owner is very nice and friendly. Beautiful sunsets every day with reasonably priced food and drinks. Highly recommend!

From previous reviews we thought this might be the quintessential beach dive with amazing food. It is a great location on the beach. It is cheap. However, the food leaves you with the distinct feeling that you should have gone somewhere else.

Great food good taste

Walked pass Golden Fish while exploring the beach in the morning and came back with the family for lunch. Nice environment by the beach serving great tasty seafood. We had a lobster, mussels, glass noodle with Tiger prawns and many other yummy dishes. A little pricey considering Phuket should have abundant seafood as its by the coast but worth the fresh quality and quantity. A little hard to get to if driving as its through a small village and unpaved narrow lane but easy access if walking by the beach from the nearby hotels.

Great Place for Sundowners.

This is a great spot to watch the sunset (weather permitting) with a cold beer or cocktail. We also enjoyed the food afterwards, the steamed fish Thai style being the highlight. The staff here are really helpful and attentive and they have classy live music which suits the mood. The only slight drawback is the thumping music coming from nearby venues which to my ears, cut across the beauty and tranquility of the setting.

Beach Restaurant - full experience

This restaurant became our favourite spot for lunches and often dinners as it combined everything one is looking for during a beach vacation. It is directly on the beach with sea views, good food, friendly staff and reasonable prices. Next door is an open air massage parlor so once too tired of the sun, sand, bathing and good thai food you can take a pretty good foot or thai massage ;-)

This has to be one of the best restaurants on the beach; the food is great and even appeals to little pallets like my five year old. It has to be said though its the staff that make it. They have so much appreciation for their guests and patrons and they remember everyone. We stayed in Laguna at a 5 star hotel for a month and my daughter only wanted to eat here. There were days we went for lunch and dinner- the guys were so great! Can’t recommend them more and the food was very authentic which we loved.

Excellent food

We dined at the Golden Fish several times during our recent holiday to Phuket. We were staying at the Banyon Tree so made use of the shuttle bus service to the Saii hotel, which is just a few metres away from the Golden Fish. The restaurant location is perfect, right on the beach front. The food was excellent (significantly better than Saffron, Banyon Tree Thai restaurant). Every dish was very tasty, well presented and good value (main courses around bt 250). The one negative being the service wasn't always as good as it could be. There were times when we tried to order drinks but the staff seemed to be busy clearing up. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

Super meals

We ate about 6 times at the Golden Fish and were never disappointed. The setting on the beach watching the sun go down is magical. The food was always of the highest quality with more than adequate portion size. The staff were always efficient, friendly and responsive. I would recommend this restaurant for great value for money.

Great food and service

Great restaurant situated right on the beach. Full menu available even with reduced demand resulting from Covid-19. Good local beer selection in large and small bottles. Great for sun-downers with a view facing west.

Amazing ambiance

We went to watch the sunset and found a lovely table right on the sand, front row. The live music and chickens which delightfully roamed around us as we ate really added to the serene atmosphere of the place and made it a truly memorable experience. Though, unfortunately I don’t think we ordered the best dishes—I’d recommend you not order fried seafood; we found it to be too dry and nothing particularly special.

Good local Thai Curries

4 adults for dinner. We had the green, red and massaman (contained nuts) curries. All were excellent. Also the wine in a carafe was better than expected and good value. Service was fast and the staff were helpful and friendly. Place was clean and the live music helped the atmosphere. Loved the little chickens running around. Would recommend and would come back for the curries (mainly the green curry)

Good food in great setting

Incredible food, beautiful setting right on the beach. We stayed at Saii Laguna so short walk to Golden Fish. Large portions ( we always shared a rice) and very reasonably priced. Very attentive Staff, meals served piping hot and quickly. Highly recommend the Tamarind Duck. Visited for lunch and dinner and never disappointed

Relax with wonderful food and amazing service

This place has everything. Great food and drink Excellent hospitality Amazing location Fabulous music On the beach with a swing to play on. Watch the sunset with a cocktail or 2 at prices much more competitive than the hotels. Kids welcome and splashing in the waves as you sit back and relax Staff are amazing and so accommodating can't do enough for you. Can't recommend this place enough chilled and beautiful 👌
