A delicious restaurant with the best homemade french crêpe in Phuket

Black Cat is a restaurant not like others in Phuket with outstanding thai and international cuisine. The food is absolutely tasty and yummy as we came many times to this place during our stay in Phuket. Me and my wife recommend the Black Cat Salad, the Pork Chop with mushroom sauce, the spaghetti carbonara, the onion soup along with the crispy soft french baguette. We highly recomment the Crêpe au Chocolat ( The best crêpe in Phuket 👍🏻) and the Chocolate Mousse as our two top best dessert at Black Cat. Chef Philippe is a very friendly owner and talented chef, as he is always humble and caring towards his guests. His staffs are knowledgeable and attentive to service details offering a memorable dining experience. We surely recommend Black Cat as a must try dining experience while in Phuket with great atmosphere, amazing food and friendly staffs.

Best food we’ve had in Thailand

We came across this little gem whilst staying at the Laguna resort We visited on two occasions and could not fault the food . The place is clean bright and rustic . Staff were super friendly and the menu was extensive and very reasonable Definitely recommend leaving room for pud though! They even do a taxi service from the Laguna resort and back as long as you spend over 500 beat on food and drinks

Great established restaurant

We came here after reading about this restaurant on a blog. Its been there for a number of years. A good rustic venue on the main street. Worth contacting the restaurant as they operate a shuttle service if you spend over 500 thai Baht The service was very good, friendly team The food was delicious, highly recommended!

Not how it used to be

Both food and service were a let down, as a result we felt there was no great value. Thai food was not cooked fresh or the way it should have been, service had some miscommunication issues unfortunately. Perhaps this explains why the restaurant was empty. It used to be popular for both Thais, local expats and tourists.

Always truly excellent food and it all starts and ends with the always happy fella known as Big!

We have been travelling to Phuket since 2012 and each and every year we return to eat at the truly excellent Black Cat. March 2024 was no exception and in the two week holiday we ate at Black Cat around 4 times. The local village has expanded considerably and there are many new restaurants within close proximity to the Black Cat however none rival Black Cat when it comes to the mix of service, food and value and each year we return to Black Cat due to the extremely consistent and great quality food. Someone worthy of a mention has to be the happy fella who is known as 'Big'. He picks us up and returns us to the Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket and he is always so happy and keen to please despite english not being his first language. Seeing him and the wonderful vintage map of Phuket by the pool table are some of the reasons we return to Black Cat It is also very nice that each evening the owner Phillippe comes around personally and thanks us for dining at his restaurant. You would not get such service at other places. A truly excellent eatery in every way due to the wonderful staff and also the fabulous food the Penang Curry being extremely hard to beat.

Tasty Thai food for a reasonable price

The Tamarind pork was delicious. The portion size was deceptive, being all meat it was very filling with a serve of steamed rice. The Thai style omelette with chopped crab was very good and not too oily. The flavour of the crab was not over powering. Both meals were delivered at the same time. We will return if we are staying in the area again.

Consistently good

This isn't my first review of Black Cat restaurant. What I really like about this restaurant is the consistency of their quality. I've been visiting this restaurant over the past few years and they have maintained a standard that keeps bringing me back. Since my last visit, they have done some renovations to the entrance, and got a new look menu with some new dishes. The quality of service and meals was very good (again), and I'll definitely be back again!

An amazing little find - solid reputation and great selection

When you come across a small restaurant with a large menu (I’m not joking there’s lots of pages), you tend to think, it can’t all be good. Despite some initial concerns, I visited with my wife + two teenage sons and we all all ordered vastly different genres of food from the menu. And, it all arrived looking great and tasting even better. I don’t think we’ve all been so quiet as we tucked in, all holiday. Everything was fresh, well presented and reasonably priced. After the meal they even took us back to our hotel (Angsana) for free. The staff seemed very caring and genuine, well worthy of a tip. My sons also enjoyed some games of pool - if you’re in the area, go and give it a try.

Visited Black Cat twice this trip and it’s still consistently good. I really Love the Penang at Black along with his fresh salads and abundance of starters. Service is good, Wi-Fi and even a hotel pick up and drop off service. Good wine list also. Will go again before we leave. 🍻

Delicious food, must try if your in the area

This is a fantastic restaurant, the food was amazing, the service was friendly. I had the beef wellington which was so good we came back a second night to have it again! The menu options are great with something to satisfy everyone, good price for such high quality food! Plus a free ride back to our hotel

We've been using the Black Cat for years and it never disappoints. The variety of food on offer is huge and is always spot on. Philippe and team provide a really friendly service and welcome us back each year. We can't wait to return in 2025

Having known Philip the owner and chef for over 20 years he has kept Black Cat’s reputation as being on of the finest dinning experiences in Phuket (French Country Food) it has a nice relaxed ambiance, it’s not “fine dinning” but more of any everyday restaurant with a pleasant bar serving good quality wine at reasonable prices.

It’s not as good as last year and it’s a lot more expensive. They tried to charge 500b to open a bottle of wine.

I can agree we increase the prices a little bit, around 10%. But just because all prices have increased a lot, on all meats, vegetables, even more on imported products. So unfortunately all restaurants have increased, not only us. About wine, we apply the smallest corkage charge around us, and i am always happy to give a small discount...in fact it is the first time i hear a complain about it in 28 years. I normally never answer on this type of comment, except regarding the quality of food. But i found the title not representing our restaurant! Cheers!

Very well established Thai/French restaurant with a H U G E menu of all-sorts of cuisines. 6 of us ate here and non of us had a bad meal. There are higher-class restaurants in the area but the Black is perfectly fine and very good value too. Also, they pick-up and drop-off around Laguna
