Definitely a worthy stop. A very smart, clean restaurant shows that this is a well run place which takes food seriously. The bar area seems a little clinical on entry, mainly because everything is so clean! However, it does provide a lovely informal place to...More

Incredibly good catering for vegans; if you ring up before hand and let the chefs know you're coming they'll get the ingredients in to make something for you, and thank you for challenging them to it! The two vegan soups and asparagus starters as well...More

We hadn't been to the Tollemache Arms for over 16 years when we lived in the Vale. Cruising around our old haunts today we stopped for a drink. Our immediate impression was how smart it looked with tables set for lunch in the restaurant, a...More

As the title suggests we've driven past this pub many times, as it's in the way to friends and family. So we decided to meet some friends here for Friday night dinner. Booked a table as recommended by another friend who lives in the village....More

There's free parking at the Tollemache Arms but it's a fair walk to Halifax town centre

The Tollemache Arms is situated 4 miles off the A1 in the beautiful village of Buckminster, between Colsterworth and Melton Mowbray on the B676.The bar is open to everyone, their muddy feet and their dogs! Tasty bar nibbles such as home roasted mixed nuts, olives, pickled eggs and much more are prepared by the Chef and a selection of draught beers and local ales are changed regularly - all to be enjoyed in front of a cosy fire during the cold winter months! The dining room offers intimacy and the menu offers pub classics or sandwiches at lunchtime as well as bar snacks and other dishes to push your palate. The library is ideal for coffee mornings, meetings and an area for the children, with toys available. It is also popular during the evenings for pre-dinner/party drinks and after dinner coffees. We have a large garden with plenty of space for eating outside and can cater for private parties, weddings, christenings or any other events, either within the pub or in a marquee outside in the garden. The Tollemache Arms offers a relaxed, cosy atmosphere with friendly chat and we look forward to welcoming you on your visit.
