I very nearly cancelled my booking after reading some of the reviews on this site. We decided to go ahead and try it for ourselves and we are glad we did. The food was really good and we couldn't complain about anything we were served....More

Just returned from our first trip to the Boat Inn. Group of 7 welcomed warmly. Nothing too much trouble for our server; standout service. Starters and mains very good, didn’t have dessert. Give it a go and you won’t be disappointed.

We had Sunday lunch there with mixed age range of people. It was a cold rainy day and unfortunately the room in which we were seated was freezing. Some of us had cooked to order food which was apparently lovely and nice and hot. Several...More

'Some of us had cooked to order food which was apparently lovely and nice and hot' BUT 'wouldn't return unfortunately.' Mad isn't it? People ought to review their review then they wouldn't write such contradictory claptrap!! Speak to the staff in restaurants we have amazing...More

Really surprised by this one. Julie B and her friends have been coming in every other week for the last 6-8 weeks, on a Friday. Every week she moans about something but usually tongue in cheek and a bit of banter. Though one week she...More

Booked Christmas dinners for 8 this evening with 2 hours notice. Excellent food, especially the fish platter starter, tasty ales, genuinely friendly service, good atmosphere and reasonable prices. Will be back next time we're in the area.

I recently visited in a group of 18, we had obviously booked in advance and also all pre ordered our food. Firstly I would like to say that we have previously visited in a group of this size and we have had a lovely time....More

Well that's an all round shame!! Just a few observations. We have no idea how many people are going to walk in without booking so that is out of our control. The central issue seems to be cold plates, clearly an over sight for which...More

For a lovely little place what a mistake. When we walked through the door and noticed that it wasn't to busy thought getting food would be a quick and easy process, wrong. There was a table of three walkers at the table next to us...More

Looked at overall rating from Tripadvisor and weren't expecting too much! But made booking as venue suited the time/place we had to be. Arrived after one to almost deserted pub - a little disconcerting!! However we thoroughly enjoyed our ham,egg and chips and the rabbit...More
