Dante's Coffee is well known for good food and drinks. It's in the East of the City, in the Daan District. It's an area that's popular with up and coming people in the business world. The coffee shop is popular for Western-style light meals, including...sandwiches. The coffee's good too.More

Taiwan has a rapidly developing coffee culture but Dante is still the same as it was 20 years ago. The food is mass produced and the coffee is not all that great. You still have to collect your own order and the crockery is occasionally...chipped. However, Dante still performs its main function -- acting as a community center. It's warm inside. A pair of high-school students were doing their homework together, a couple of mature ladies were chatting while having coffee and cake, several businessmen were working on their laptops. By the way, I had a hot macha latte. It was so bitter that I added sugar to it. I did not enjoy the experience.More

We stop by for a bite to eat and some coffee. We had the club sandwich and two coffees and both were good. The restaurant is neat with pleasant staff. Nice enough.

I am not sure if i have got the right branch of Dante's coffee but this restaurant was next to the City Lake Hotel in Cheng Gong Road. We had a quick dinner around 6pm and ordered the mushroom 🍝 and bacon risotto. The bacon...risotto was made with a bed of white rice and I was very disappointed with it. The mushroom pasta was better and we finished our meal with a waffle dessert with cream and syrup. It was alright but IMHO, i have tasted better waffles. The bubble tea was ok, not overly sweet. The restaurant was quiet and had a strangely deserted gloomy ambience. I give it 2 ⭐️⭐️More

I often go to Dante for lunch. Their smoked chicken tortilla is pretty good. They also make a decent latte. I usually order the same dishes. My daughter always gets the soup. I've been to numerous Dante branches all over Taipei and the food is...consistently good. However, I went to the Shih Pai outlet today and the cream of corn soup tasted off (sour). I brought it down to tell the cashier the soup tasted sour and instead of replacing the soup the attendant just apologized and then ignored me. If my mandarin was better I would have asked for reimbursement or some compensation. I was not happy with the customer service and would definitely not return to the Shih Pai branch. Very disappointing.More

Dante's Coffee house is probably the most popular coffee house in Taiwan! It offers delicious hot breakfast, such as waffles or pancakes! The drinks are very reasonably priced. There are the old favourites such as, the Latte or Mocha. However, there are some Taiwanese drinks...as well which are delicious! The staff are friendly and attentive. The building is very spacious with two floors.More

Really like this place, for sure it is better than Starbucks both for quality and price. As for Starbucks, no table service, but you can sit there all day long and there are some really comfortable seating (the one in Houzou is the best in...atmosphere). Really love the mocha iced coffee with chocolate flakes and the tropical hot tea.More

Dante's Coffee is Taiwan's answer to Starbucks. The place is always busy and the baristas seem rather harried at times. The wifi works only if your mobile device has a local SIM card. Service is not as speedy and the coffee beverages are not as...rich as those at Starbucks. However, prices are lower here too ~ very pocket-friendly. Dante's Coffee offers customers a more varied menu, with a wider selection of light meals and desserts. Order and pay at the counter, and you'll be given a palm sized timer. When it chimes, pick up your food and drinks. Customers are expected to return their trays after their meals.More

Waffles are in fact, not a staple of the Taiwanese diet, however, our room was not ready when we arrived, so we needed a place to kill a little while. The waffles and "american breakfast" were mediocre at best, but the Citron Tea, now that...was tasty! Next trip to Taipei I'll be ordering another one! A light oolong (i think) tea with what looked to be a spoonful of citron marmalade (or syrup?). The tea had a wonderful perfume that lingered in the mouth, and was refreshingly sweet.More

I've been in Taiwan for over a week and have been hitting up the nearby Starbucks daily. This morning, I thought I'd give this spot a try. I've been walking by it for a while so thought "why not?" I looked over the breakfast menu...closely, but didn't see anything that I wanted to try so ended up ordering a large Caramel Machiatto. I thought the price was better than Starbucks until I was handed the beverage and saw that the size was much smaller than I was expecting. A closer view of the menu showed coffee sizes as being S, L and J, which I can only surmise as being Small, Large and perhaps... Jumbo (?). Really? Jumbo? When I order a Large, give me the biggest one you've got! I used to work in a theater that sold "Jumbo" sized drinks and popcorn. I though it was a silly, useless size then, and haven't changed my opinion in the fifteen years since. Not only does it confuse the customer, it also results in less sales for the establishment. It's just a bad sales practice in my opinion. Anyhow... The drink came out quickly and tasted fine. It was not overly sweet as sometimes happens at Starbucks. Despite the great taste, I'm not sure I'll be back. Ordering a "Jumbo" sized anything just seems... well...somewhat indulgent and excessive. I'll stick with a venti, which is also a strange name for a drink size. But at least "venti" actually means something... it's Italian for twenty, as in 20 ounces. That doesn't seem excessive at all.More

Firstly Dantes cafes are all over Taipei city, as they are a chain. Their coffee is amazing; as is the whole beverage selection including teas; juices etc. They have a really nice food menu and do breakfast sets; lunches; salads as well as delicious cakes....The staff are always helpful and friendly as seems everyone in Taipei. The atmosphere is pleasant, and comfortable. The price of their drinks and food menu is a snip in comparison to what Starbucks are charging making it a great place to enjoy for what i believe is a much better product.More

Had a couple of breakfast at dante cafe near my hotel. It has free wifi and not bad bread. It gets crowded with tour groups or tourists staying from the nearby hotels and can get quite bustling around 8-8.30am. By adding ~SGD $1, I get...a latte along with my pumpkin porridge and sandwich set . What value for money. Return your tray at one of the tray return points on your way out so that others can get a breakfast tabletoo!More
