We have been to Barolo a number of times and always make it a point to have lunch or dinner here. The menu is traditional Piemonte cuisine and their execution is always impeccable. We were greeted by the owner and he took us to the table we had requested when we made our reservation a few days earlier. There are... More

We specifically called and made a reservation for Sunday night. They seemed happy to have us. When Sunday night rolled around, they were closed. We called and they said it was an "exception" that they were normally open, but would not be tonight. The least they could have done was to give us a call. We were left scrambling for... More

Cozy, warm, friendly atmosphere with absolutely perfectly prepared local dishes. Starter of poached egg ravioli with spinach, parmesan and white truffles is out of this world. Brasato al Barolo was the best I've ever had. A definite repeat!

Despite a lot of tourists - still keeps real Italian shape. Antipasti, pasta, carne, dolce - we enjoyed and found no even minor weakness. Winelist is well designed. Service has challenges during the rush hours but they are trying and keep positive approach.

This is an authentic, down-to-earth place with traditional regional dishes. The antipasti and primi were good, but nothing to write home about. It is, however, the panna cotta where this place truly stands out. As a panna cotta fanatic, I already had this odd feeling some years ago, when I first visited the Cantinetta, that this might have been one... More

Having wandered around the lovely hilltop town of Barolo and sampled some of its delicious, ruby, fruity wine, we chose to eat lunch at La Cantinetta by luck. It proved to be a great choice. The home-cooked food was yummy, accompanied by an excellent bottle of house red. We opted for simple dishes, cooked Piemontese-style. These included home-made ravioli with... More

We ate at La Cantinetta after walking around Barolo. The restaurant smelled of aroma of home cooking when you walked in. We sat in the back. The decor was funky mixed of stuff. Our waitress was nice and the owner was very warm coming out to greet the customers. The food was delicious and reasonable. My husband ordered an appetizer... More

Modern looking white walls and nice modern art I had rack of lamb with roasted potatoes and my friend had rabbit with white beans. The waiter recommended a lovely Barolo and we were quite happy. A sommelier from the states recommended the restaurant and we thought it was very good. Conveniently located on the main street of Barolo near parking.

When making a reservation, make sure you ask for a table in the back of the restaurant, by the terrace! What a great view!! The food is also very good! I ordered a nhoque as a starter and a traditional beef cooked with wine as the second.
