We have been here several times over the past two years, and it is just a lovely little restaurant. Food is Italian, and delicious. Fish, meat and pasta. Staff are great, really helpful.

We had a fantastic dinner here this evening. We came with our two daughters, who the waitresses were very attentive too and offered crayons to keep our eldest occupied. The goose carpaccio and pigeon ravioli were great, and the bistecca was absolutely amazing. Thank you for a lovely dinner. Would come back.

We stopped in along our ride through the countryside. They took us right in. The food was all very good. Some of the dishes we ordered were the veal stew, spaghetti and chicken. The view from the restaurant was amazing. Our waitress spoke very little English, but she was so sweet and helpful. The owner helped as well. Beautiful little... More

A simple restaurant full of locals who usually go there for the amazing pizzas. Also all other kinds of Tuscan typical dishes, delicious and good price. Good selection of wines.

We entered the restaurant by chance as we were hungry and it was right at the side of the main road we were on. It was not a busy time, only a few guests. The restaurant itself was a bit overdecorated to my liking with pictures of the owner etc. Service was attentive but seemed a bit disorganized, as both... More

We had prosecco when we arrived on the house. Also on the house was a soup of the day that they had. We had home made "pici" pasta with duck sauce which was amazing. For the main course we had the chicken breast which had an almond sauce which tasted heavenly. Never had anything taste that good before!!! Also had... More

What can I say? This place was amazing on all fronts; the staff, service, ambiance, atmosphere, food, wine! This restaurant was off the typical tourist beaten path which was so nice and refreshing. The outdoor patio architecture and atmosphere of this restaurant was quintessential Tuscany. The staff was EXCELLENT as well. They were very accommodating to our children in ordering... More

Staying at La Presura it was very close to our villa and came well recommended. When arriving we were assisted in the door (Paul is in a wheelchair) and given the opportunity to chose where we would like to sit. We were made feel extremely welcome and given prosecco immediately! They always makes a girl happy! The menu was interesting... More

The ristorante is beautiful. Very clean. You begin with a glass of Preseco and a special dish. The food is not only delicious but the presentation is beautiful. We will be going back before our time here is over. They made us feel like part of the family.

We stopped here to have our dinner because we didn't like at all the restaurant we had booked. Service was friendly and food was good. Location is not bad, with a pleasant fireplace in the main room. I was with my boyfriend and we had two starters and two main dishes. He ordered goose carpaccio as starter and boar with... More

Description
We are just outside of Florence. We’ve left the city behind us and have taken the famous Secondary Road n. 222, better known as the Chiantigiana, towards Siena. Beforeentering Strada in Chianti we have on our left the Ristorante Il Caminetto del Chianti known for years for its traditional Tuscan quality cuisine yet not forsaking a few items of national character. The term “Country Restaurant” that can be read on the sign located on its rustic facade is not a misnomer: it is a chameleon-like locale that knows how to be elegant and romantic while at the same time simple and traditional due to its 16 years of passionate family management. The seasonal menu choices are the result of careful research of regional culinary tradition: therefore, next to the “Great Tuscan Classics” there are extraordinary dishes that are now almost forgotten or at least obsolete like Peposo, Carabaccia and Matuffi that come back to life on the Caminetto del Chianti table. The secret to this restaurant’s quality cuisine is found mainly in its use of locally produced prime quality products. Great care is also taken in selecting wines. The excellent house wine cellar, in fact, hosts more than 450 labels, originating mainly from the local area. When the weather is hot, you can also eat on the panoramic terrace under the shade of the linden trees, while in winter your meals will be heated by the slow and welcoming fire of the large fireplace that gives the restaurant its name.
