Food near Denali is expensive. I was on my way back to anchorage so cooking wasn't a great option for lunch. The black bear has the most appealing menu out of the touristy stops right outside Denali. While the warm food smelled and looked amazing I opted to finish just pick up a smoked chicken sandwich from their grab and... More

On our ill-fated Denali Princess Wilderness lodge stay, when there was no water and therefore no coffee, we returned from the Denali excursion, caffeine-deprived, only to find our hotel still had no water or plumbing. So we walked across the street and discovered this oasis in the middle of our Denali desert. I was thrilled with their selection of flavorful... More

stop there on my way through the bitty town every chance I get! The staff is a cool group of out of towners - as everyone is an out-of-towner! They're friendly and gave me a hug when I asked ^^

Great coffee, amazing breakfast and luck. You could grab and go too. The sweet potato pastries are yummy. Nice outdoor seating. Loved this place.

We chose not to do a sit down expensive breakfast on our last day at Denali. The good folk at the cabins referred us to the Black Bear Coffee House. It is in one of the strips opposite the entrance to the Park and can be easy to miss. At first look, I thought not to go in. But I... More

The food served here was great for breakfast/brunch and good for take-aways. If you are looking to pack sandwiches and bites for your hike in Denali, this a good place to get them. Favorites include the banana bread, chocolate muffin, cinnamon roll, mac and cheese and BBQ pulled pork sandwich. However, I noticed that myself and a few other customers,... More

Very good coffee and a few tables outside where you can relax and enjoy drinking your cup. We had amazing weather and sat in the sun for a break during our shopping in the various stores on each sides of Black Bear Coffee. There is ample parking in front of the shop.

This rustic restaurant was across the street from the Princess Lodge where we were staying. It was a fun and laid-back Alaska atmosphere. Their menu was fairly extensive, and the prices were a godsend. We had a late breakfast of the "Scratch Biscuit Sandwich" which is like an Alaskan version of the Egg McMuffin, and coffee and tea. They offer... More

My companion has celiac so we are always delighted when we encounter an enlightened establishment offering gluten free items. We had their berry bars and they were amazing!
