Restaurant was booked so had small bites and drinks in the adjoining cocktail lounge. Good variety on the small menu and great service from the wait staff. Definitely would go back for a full meal the next time we visit.

Always great service at this restaurant and a great variety of food. The staff is always friendly and not a long wait for your food compared to other places.

There are few dining options in the Grand Canyon so we decided to try this place for dinner. It came highly recommended. The food was expensive and just okay. The food was a bit bland. The service was very slow. I don't plan to go back, but it was worth trying once.

Had dinner here after a full day of hiking. Wish I could remember our waiter's name because he was truly a breath of fresh air. After hearing what I liked in a wine he recommended an Arizona chardonnay and it was as good as he claimed it would be. He steered us away from the halibut special -- said it... More

Went there for Thanksgiving dinner, it was a complete zoo. They tried their best to organize the crowd but were lagging way behind. We were promised 45 min wait time the max, turned out to be hour and a half. Setting is very nice, especially when there is still sunlight (we were dotted like 40 min after sunset), food is... More

A lovely trip to the Grand Canyon, this place is fantastic. Stayed at the lodge and had dinner at the Xanterra or whatever the name of the restaurant at the El Tovar lodge is. My lovely wife booked the dinner way in advance, as you should. Checked into the hotel and spoke with the restaurant receptionist about a table. "Can't... More

We love classic old hotels and a good way to experience them without the high cost of staying there is to dine there. With that in mind we booked dinner at the El Tovar- service was impeccable, true professionals, the setting was classic (albeit a little chilly), the food was great- even the teenagers liked it. Never had stuffed quail... More

We had dinner last Sat. night at the restaurant. Our waiter was "Jose" he provided excellent service and gave us some great recommendations (which we took) and were so pleased with our dinners. El Tovar is an upscale lodge...very homey and warm. My husband had the NY strip (said one of the best he's ever had) and I had the... More

We had a good experience. We had halibut that was ok but not great. I would go back to this restaurant and order something different. Service was good and the restaurant is beautiful.

Not our first time here: We did a South Kaibab to Phantom and back up Bright Angel the next day, and gave ourselves Tovar as our reward. It was very good food and attentive wait staff, so that became our point of focus this trip. We earned our meals: North Kaibab to Phantom, then Phantom up Bright Angel. Made our... More
