Arrived in the evening, midweek for an overnight stay. On the plus side, welcoming in particular for our dog! Dinner was very good. Room was spacious with a lovely bath. On the down side, not a single towel in the room on arrival. We had to ask twice for towels. Eventually when they arrived, only hand and face towels provided!... More

We booked a table for six of us on Monday night. All staff were very welcoming and friendly throughout our visit. Very relaxed atmosphere and lovely decor. The menu was varied and everyone was happy with their choices. Food was well presented and tasty. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

Stopped by for lunch with my partner on a wee day trip to St. Andrew's. The staff were really welcoming coming in and friendly throughout my visit, with both us and all customers. My partner ordered the steak ciabatta and I ordered a small fish and chips. Both dishes were really tasty, I only wished I ordered the larger fish,... More

Came for a meal with another family. Food was really tasty, staff all really helpful, great location & beautifully decorated. Enjoyed an aperitif in front of a cosy fire. Would recommend and hope to return.

Visited this evening with our two children. Good menu & good selection for kids too. The soup was very tasty to start with and the main courses arrived promptly after that. My husband was excited to try the new lobster tacos but was quickly disappointed by how cold they were and felt the need to eat them quickly before they... More

The setting is lovely if you're lucky to get a window seat.decor pleasing and the plentyful staff are helpful. The prices vary as does the food, so... he had fish and chips (as he's a conoisseur, as he is on pies!) He wasn't that hungry, for a change it was me with a grumbling tum. Sadly the chips were not... What a find. We were travelling to Aberdeen and wanted to break up the journey. Choose this place. What luck. We had a front room with a terrific bay view. The accommodation was amazing. Very luxurious and had many extras I was shocked to find, like a proper coffee machine. The evening meal was fantastic. I loved this place

The Ship Inn at Elie in Fife has long been one of Scotland's most iconic pubs, famous for its great views, stunning location, and even as the only pub in the world to have a cricket team with a pitch on the beach. The owners, Graham and Rachel Bucknall, who also run the Bridge Inn at Ratho (named as AA Pub of the Year in September 2014) purchased the Ship Inn, a pub they both knew very well, in late 2014. After a major 6-month renovation programme, they re-opened a transformed Ship Inn in the summer of 2015. 6 beautiful bedrooms were opened in March 2016. The inn is part of a row of old cottages by the harbour. At its heart is the bar where the comfy chairs and sofas beside the open fires and wood-burning stoves make a welcome sight, especially when it's windy and rainy outside. You are more than welcome just to call in for a coffee, but it's worth stopping longer for a pint, a whisky or a meal in the upstairs restaurant with its views of the bay. The same menu is offered throughout the inn - and if you have your dog with you, he or she is very welcome to join you downstairs - water, treats and even dog beds are provided. The food is of the hearty pub variety, but seafood, locally caught, is high on the menu. Graham and Rachel have also created delightful double and twin bedrooms, all with views of Elie Bay and the Firth of Forth. The Ship Inn is unique in the fact that it has the only cricket team in the UK that plays matches on the beach. From May to September, depending on the tide and after the sand has been rolled flat, the Ship's team hosts matches for other Scottish teams and touring teams from all over the world.
