We have been visiting this little restaurant for a number of years now and it just gets better. A super place to lunch after a morning in St Chinian.

hidden in the small village of Berlou, near the bridge and the Cellar, this pretty owner/chef restaurant is a gem. The chef himself will take the order and serve you. Creative cuisine still very mediterranean.

My partner and I last ate at Le Faitout around 2010, and had lunch again there yesterday (with our dog, who was warmly welcomed). The chef's philosophy, as we understand it, continues to define this restaurant. Locally produced, high quality food and wine, the food cooked and presented beautifully by the chef, with enthusiasm and well-deserved pride. It's impressive that... More

Le Faitout is set in a beautiful little village just outside Saint Chinian. My parents have been here four times before and couldn't wait to share their experience.. Unfortunately, we hadn't booked a table and were initially told they were fully booked for the lunch time menu. However, whilst walking over to "Le Cave de Belou" the Chef/Owner ran across... More

We have been trying to get here for years and finally managed last night. The food was elegant, lovely crab amuse guelle, an excellent mackerel and onion confit starter and a tender boned and stuffed rabbit- all delicious (I could have done with a little more potato with the rabbit but then I am Irish). Having made a choice of... More

We live in the area and frequently take friends here when they visit. We have never been disappointed. The menu is small, but everything on it is fresh and made from scratch.

Berlou is a small wine producing village in the Languedoc and just happens to house a restaurant of stunning quality. Make sure to book, it is difficult to get to and fills quickly- both for lunch and dinner. Deserves a Michelin star for the quality of the food; all ingredients are produced locally matched by local wines.

We just returned from "Le Faitout". When we arrived at the restaurant, a table was prepared for us and some space for a stroller (we had a baby from three months with us) next to the table was no problem. When it started raining, the staff friendly guided us inside. The number of dishes was quite limited, but there was... More

Absolutely wonderful location. We'd tried to get in here before but were quickly shown the door due to a lack of a reservation, even though it was nowhere near full. We did finally get in and the food was pretty good, if not a little fussy. It's mentioned in the Michelin guide, which they are quick to point out. Was... More

We did not intend to go to Berlou but Le Lezard Bleu at Vieussan was closed so we crossed the bridge and climbed above the Gorges de l'Orb to this peaceful village among linden trees. The restaurant was a real find with the €16.50 menu consisting of duck leg on potato with apple sauce followed by a delicious sweet of... More
