We spent a few evenings here enjoying Mojito's and the live band. It was well worth spending an evening here soaking up the literary vibes of Ernest Hemingway!

Nice place for a cocktail and a read of one of his novels. Very busy place. Good cocktails and great staff.

El Floridita is a historic fish restaurant and cocktail bar in Old Havana. It is a hangout for both locals and tourists. It is famous for its daiquiris and for having been one of the favorite gang outs of Ernest Hemingway in Havana. There is a great statue of Hemingway.

buy a daiquiri if you must, then regain your sanity and move on to a better bar. This will probably be the most expensive daiquiri you have in Havana, you can only get it frozen or frappe, and it'll be a while before you get served with 2 bartenders posing for pictures behind the bar while you wait. Hemingway would... More

its very busy and noisy, we tried a few times to get a seat. We waited and eventually had a seat at the bar. The staff are not friendly or welcoming, purely functional - and they didn't do that well either! we ordered and waited, then reminded the bar man twice. A coach party came in after we ordered, so... Great atmosphere, drinks and staff, also great live music, what more do you need? Customers get up and dance to the music provided by whichever live band is in there and this all makes for a good time.

There is a restaurant at the back you cant tell when you walk in, its a bar. If you want to eat keep going to the back. Must warn you it... More

We stopped in for a daiquiri and the place was beautiful and lively. We did have the misfortune of having a drunk European tourist take offense at one of our traveling companions bumped into his wife and would not let him leave even after he apologized. Luckily the bar management stepped in and dealt with the person.

And if you are over the age of 35 and don't want to stand and wait a long time for a table or even a seat at the bar, OK to peak in and then walk out. There are plenty of other fun bars in Havana.

Yes, it is very crowded with tourists, but I had a very hit or miss culinary experience in Cuba so that was the least of my worries! Plus I am a tourist anyway lol! The Daiquiris really are the best I have ever had! So light and refreshing (light meaning not syrupy and artificial as they can often be elsewhere... More
