After several recommendations from many friends, we tried dining in La Guarida but it was fully booked for the entire week. We kept trying, until our last night in Havana, when we decided to show up and try luck in person. There wasn't any table available for dinner BUT the recepcionist offered us a Mojito at the bar and WOW,... More

Just the entrance to this restaurant is amazing! By the time you walk up all the flights of stairs you are sure to have worked up an appetite. Full of paintings and sculptures, it romantically captures the old Havana feel. The food was good- fresh salads, lamb curry, lobster and plenty of mojitos. The ambience was 5 stars; the food... Amazing food!!! One of the best we had our whole trip. The flight of stairs to get upstairs is no joke, but when you do is totally worth it. As others have mentioned, book your reservation for 7pm, and get there around 5:30-6 to watch the sunset and sip on drinks on the roof top bar. Then come down for... More

This place is in an amazing building. There was a lot of loud construction going on during our lunch but it kind of added to the ambiance. Definitely worth checking out just to see the amazing architecture. Food was really disappointing. I had the lobster risotto which was just lobster with mayonnaise and soy sauce rice. Totally gross. Especially at... More

Overpriced. Poor kitchen. Lives from reputation when the movie 'Fresas y chocolate' was partly taken there. Avoid this place.

This is a very cool restaurant and event space! It has a rather inconspicuous entrance and the first floor looks like it might be abandoned but it's not! It's great that they have left the bottom floor authentic! Head up to the 3rd floor for a very updated restaurant! The food is very good- try the lobster risotto!

We had a great night at La Guarida, starting with an excellent dinner in the main dining room. They were unfortunately out of the marlin tacos, but the duck salad was a great alternative. For our mains, we had the creamy lobster and risotto, and the signature roasted suckling pig. Portions were surprisingly generous, so we ended up not having... More

The views from the restaurant are beautiful. They reflect the city and can see the sunset. The food is good but a little more expensive.

I came here on my first night in Havana with a bunch of dancer friends of mine.We had a great time and food was very good Yuca with Mojo sauce was delicious the best I have ever tasted before. Pork was very good too. They are famous for their strawberries and chocolate but oven wasn't working. I ordered the lemon... More

Not only is the place gorgeous and historic, the food was wonderful. Great wine list as well. Make reservations way in advance or you'll never get in.
