Restaurant "caters" to tourists, but doesn't seem to want to be bothered with tourists. Rude head waiters. Young wait staff very sweet. Food mediocre, at best. I don't plan to eat here again.

We had a pretty good meal at el Templete; we particularly enjoyed the appetisers. It was pretty empty the night we visited but the waiters were very friendly. The most annoying part was that many dishes we selected initially were not available. If you pass by, it is a reasonable place to eat, otherwise I would not be making a... More

I went to lunch at that restaurant as I have passed many times by the front and me and my partner decided to try, to start the service is very cold and impersonal, they do not mistreat you but they almost ignore you, we ordered a daiquiri while we read the menu, And when I saw the prices that horror,... All i can say is we went for lunch and nothing was good. The food took forever and when it came it was cold. The service nothing to write home about. Expensive i guess because its accross the street from the water. Will never eat there again. Highly not recommended

On our last day in Havana, we wanted to get and enjoy a seafood restaurant. We arrived and there were two couples there. The first thing we do is to enquire what is "fresh fish" and we were told most was frozen. The only thing that was fresh which was the fish of the day. We ordered that. The service... More

El Templete is not what it used to be. The fish is still excellent (at least, it was when we ate there in December), but the service is indifferent. Also, the restaurant was almost empty, which was unusual for us. It used to have a good atmosphere, full of locals and expats. That being said, we had some of the... More

I was there with a group in October. It was terrible. Avoid if you can. The food atmosphere is unappealing and the food was inedible.

Last day dinner in Havana was advertised as best one but what a disappointment. Average food combined with poor service. On top of that restaurant refused to move our group inside (it was around 60 deg F outside, yes in Cuba) even though there was nobody inside at any time during our dinner

This is a government run restaurant and smells of it all the way. My group arrived for our final meal on a cold rainy night. they seated us on the canvas covered terrace. we inquired about sitting inside which was completely empty. We were told that the inside was reserved for cash guests! The arguing went on for quite a... More

By the water so good view of fort across the traffic! We were in a large group so only One Choice given to us was fish of the day grilled with mash and capsicum on the side - which was dry and tasteless. After some discussion an alternative was a salad which was fresh and excellent. Great caprinerios, cold beer... More
