Just ate here last week. Had stopped at the one next door but got no service not even a look after 15 minutes seated. So we voted with our feet there and went next door to this lovely, large, open restaurant. When we got up the stairs and saw all the tour bus drivers sitting in the back eating lunch... More

A group of us were walking from Calle 64 on down doing some shopping. We stopped into the restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised. I found the food that 6 of us had as we all ordered different things were very happy with the meal we were served. It had everything on the menu, beef, chicken, pork, seafood, salads, rice,... More

We had lunch here one afternoon - the meal was good and very plentiful. The service was slow even though there were not many other customers.

This a "cabana-style" restaurant with a thatch roof and no walls. It offers Cuban cuisine, including sea food, pork, beef, and chicken dishes, almost all of which are served with rice & beans and a salad. The seafood dishes are pricier, but the other dishes are around $8 each. I have eaten here about half a dozen times and have... More

Slow service, my starter and main arrived together and the meat was bone dry and tasted like it had been in the over for hours. The deep fried root vegetables turned out to be stale deep fried Banana leaf. Avoid.

We were not disappointed with this restaurant after the Lonely Planet recommendation. I would recommend this place for good wholesome Cuban cooking. Great if you like pork. The portions are huge. Don't feel shy about asking for a take away container for leftovers. Fortunately, we had a refrigerator in our room and ate the leftovers for lunch the next day. The... More

We decided to stop here for lunch when visiting Varadero as I wanted to try some authentic Cuban cuisine. We chose to start with some chicken croquettes and battered fish which were very tasty. We then ordered a main of Ropa Vieja which is a wonderful shredded stewed beef served with black beans, rice and vegetables. Well we were impressed... More

We popped into here for some lunch when we came to the downtown area for some shopping, we ate the mixed grill between us and had some soft drinks and I had a couple of beers. The service was good and the food very tasty, much better than the food at our all inclusive hotel'

We stumbled across this little place behind the bus station as it was also close to where we were staying. It was some of the best proper Cuban food that we had and I was surprised to find such a restaurant in Varadero - it seems to cater to locals as much as tourists - we saw tour guides, bus... More

We ate there late our first night and the server was really great. She was extremely friendly and attentive. Had the criollo combo and fish. Too much food for two people. The fish was a bit overcooked but the ropa vieja was excellent. We returned another night and the lady server wasn't there. We were served by an older man... More
